Crazy Meta Magic
I respect _why heaps. He has managed to influence the world with his creativity and programming skillz. I hope our humble abode will be able to influence the world like he did.
Today, I looked at Camping - the micro framework. The magic involved is simply astounding. I haven't looked at its source code yet, but who does this? I mean, look at this magic:
Camping.goes :awry
Even dhh and his Rails baby can't accomplish this feat. Even Sinatra can't! (It's a Ruby implementation of web.py. Even I can see that. But all the hype is that it's a DSL. Maybe it is, but at first glance it reminds of me of web.py [Note to self: web.rb?!])
We as programmers have to implement more of this magic in our code. Just like git, the best software is the software that just works. Though our code may get more complicated (pray it's not spaghetti, man), it benefits others around us, surely it's worth it? Git has already thousands of code, as well as >= 15 c headers, yet it has made thousands of coders' lives easier.
Let's install more of this meta magic. gem install that
Haskell boggles my mind
Ok, ok. Calm down. I see Jon programming in the corner. Going crazy with Haskell. He told me to try it out this weekend and I did. Jon's such a werido. How is anybody supposed to get Haskell? I can finally understand why people find Haskell so hard. ARRGGHH functions. I am so used to defining my own. I'm looking at this section that Jon showed me and half the time I had to re-read the function declarations. lines. Wtf is lines? How come it makes legit sense? ARRGWSBjbaskjfbckmansd adasdsd...
EDIT I'm fine. That last bit wasn't an effort to get higher SEO rankings (It is even possible?) But Haskell is just so annoying. Good on you Jon.
Welcome to Impossibrah
*Psst...* You there! *Sshh!* Yeah good idea, come closer to the screen. *Tumblr* is pretty strict on their blogs these days. Oh wait, the patrol's gone. Well, hello. My name's Malfox and this is Jon. We are just two guys and we are here to make a better world. How? Why, through *programming*! We're gunna build some cool sh*t bro. But wait, why are we here? Why, we have no money and big ideas. So, here are hosting our messages on this neat (not really*) little service. They can host pages and stuff so we are settling here for a while. But wait! Don't worry, we aren't gonna scam you or anything. We're not gonna link you to our Paypal account (*Hey Jon! Do we even have an account?* 'Nope') for money. We're just two honest folks. So welcome to our new startup/idea. Enjoy. Follow. *Tumblr's making me hard to try and get this running. I miss the good old days...
