✮ = stargazing ! since, you know, being in the circle never gave her a great view of the night sky
meme. ❜ symbol sent for my muses reaction to your’s –
Nights in winter hardly wane with crisp air and near clear skies, dappled with thin clouds and brimming with starlight -- a glimmer far more decadent than the moon hanging beyond the battlements. He’s returning from the tavern, the crunch of snow beneath his boots hardly making for an easy trek back towards the barn -- that and Sera swindled him out of his coat for the night by the way of cards ( she cheated, he’s certain, but that’s another thing to be dealt with ), so the soft breeze cuts like a knife along his spine.
Thoughts of warmth, of shelter, and a warm fire curling in the back with the horses lock in his intentions. So much so he barely notices her standing in the middle of the yard, but it takes a shiver and a sniffle, eyes blinking wearily and frost already starting to cling to his beard.
Head craned back, dark tresses spilling along shoulders and the length of a cloaked body. Absolutely memorized with lips parted and eyes wide up towards the heavens -- an utterly serene sight and she’s a picture amongst the snow, the frost shifting around her in blustery bursts but she barely moves.
As ever, he’s in awe of her. But he indulges her unaware intrigue with a thought continuing his approach past her, gaze flicking up to adore the swarths of stars that litter the sky in chaotic design -- an emptiness that usually fills him in darker nights stays itself in the majesty of his all. No wonder she’s so entranced despite the chill.
❛ Inquis-- My Lady, ❜ he says, walking past by a few steps, hoping not to startle her. Tongue thick and mouth long having lost feeling to the bite of both brandy and the air, his actions are that of a weary, uncalculating nature .
Oh, and if he could feel his lower back, he might have noticed the way his body paused to turn, stuck in the snow for a heartbeat.
❛ — It may be a bit forward, given the hour, but I plan to start a fire for the night and you’re more than welcome to join me. After all, the view of the sky from the second floor of the barn is quite lovely and you’re far less likely to catch your death in there than out here. Consider it if you wish. It’d be nice to have the company for a change. ❜
