#making stuff tag

Remember how I said I’m cosplaying Shiro at Glasgow MCM later this month? Well, preparations are going well! 

I still need to figure out the shoulder, but I have all the parts for his s7 arm (...forearm) designed, cut out and ready to glue and eventually paint. I also experimented with spray-in hair colour this evening which, as you can see, went really well! And if you’re wondering what the deal is with the hat, I get all sneezy and headache-y from bright lights (fun with hypersensitivity!) so I decided to stick some craft foam to a cheap cap and make a thematically appropriate way of making my con experience a bit more pleasant. I’m going to paint the brim grey, I think, but the Garrison badge symbol thingie is staying obnoxiously orange.

I need to get some more white paint before I can do the rest of the painting, but look! An arm! I’ve got a few tweaks to make to the fingers so they sit and move properly now they’re painted, but I’m basically done with all the constructing. Oh yeah, and I need to do something for the grey knuckles, but I think I’ll do that with paint.
