#makeup sealer

 Some makeup requires setting powder to properly dry and seal, so make sure to read about the makeup you plan to use. You may also want to check what is required to remove the makeup, since some makeups require specific removers. 

We use ben bye setting powder, followed by ben nye final seal, but it’s really the powder that does the bulk of the job.  If your makeup is still smudging after you powder, you need to either 1) add more powder, or 2) get a different kind of grey makeup.  If you’re using “halloween” type makeup, it’s not going to stick to your skin nearly as well.

I find it annoying how easy for a makeup to melt, fade or disappear on my face when it took me nearly an hour to do it. Sometimes, gravity pulls the colors away that I end up looking like a panda due to smearing.

Just then, makeup sealer spray makes massive appearance. It is such a delight. It means I do not worry about those makeup woes! Trust me, it takes a lot of time to refresh ones makeup. That, or I am just lazy.

Luckily, there are many cosmetics brands which offer makeup sealer. Unfortunately, some are even unavailable on the malls that I have to search for them online. For that, I need to verify first if the item is authentic or imitation. Also, there are some brands which are just plain expensive.

Fortunately, there are procedures how to make your own makeup sealer. Also, it can be used as a mixing medium to make the colors of the cosmetics look more vibrant.

Here’s what you need:

*spray bottle (I am using 100ml on this tutorial)

*pure glycerin (a bottle at Watson’s costs about Php30.00 - 32.00 only)

*a cup of filtered, distilled or mineral water

*a tablespoon

STEP 1: Pour three-quarters (3/4) cup of water into the spray bottle and add one (1) tablespoon of glycerine.

For this step, you may also start pouring one (1) tablespoon of glycerine first, followed by 3/4 cup of water. Once combined, the glycerine is so vicious that it would look like little fat dollop of liquid material.

STEP 2: Shake the mixture thoroughly.

Oooooh, fizzeh!

Then, tadaaaaaaah!!!!! It is done!

To use, just spray the product on your face about an arm’s length after makeup application. Change the product every one and a half week to keep the mixture fresh.

I've been seeing lots of discussions about alternatives for professional makeup sealers and fixers, and seeing as it is nigh impossible to get any of them shipped here, I figured I'd test out the most popular alternative: Hairspray.

So today I put some grey facepaint on the inside of my arm, let it dry, then sprayed hairspray over it and let that dry. At first, the hairspray is kind of tacky and crinkly feeling on your skin, which could be annoying if it lasted, but it didn't. Within 5 minutes i forgot i even had facepaint on my arm. I wore an oldish white shirt with long sleeves to see if it would rub off throughout the day. My shirt is spotless on the inside. I even grabbed my sleeve at several points througout the day and rubbed hard on the grey, but nothing came off. It was moderately muggy out, but not too too warm (around 21C/70F). So I don't know the conditions for a hot and sweaty day, but this worked out beautifully for me today.

The hairspray I used was the one i just had lying around, which is Herbal Essences' volumizing something something. But all the discussion i've seen seems to say that even super cheap hairspray works well, so thats up to you.

Either way, I am going to be using it for my face, and I trust that i wont get grey on anybody :D
