Catch me at Ohayocon this weekend in the Artist Alley at spot C2! Dayton, Ohio 1/30-2/1
Reminder the AA is all original (with exception of like 10%) so I will not have fanart out!
Second show of the year! Find me (and a lot of banger artists tbh) at Ohayocon this weekend! I’ll be at table C6 by the guests and food, and will have some really fun felts making their debut! Stop by and say hi!
Wow. The desperation this reeks of. This is also being mass sent to *anyone* who *ever* attended because for three years I have not interacted with their POS for badges or their sign up for newsletters.
If you're not aware of the Ohayocon situation, it's a years old situation that has to do with a narcissist, nepotism, and the mistreatment of volunteer staff.
The volunteers who were mistreated created their own kind of union called COVEN, and the most senior members made their own con called Sekai-con. Which was honestly the most fun I've had at a convention in ages when I attended that last year.
The boycott of Ohayocon led to:
- "changes" in their management (which tbh, I'm not even sure how true this is as they are awful at the transparency they are trying to promote they have)
- lies about the boycott years attendance that were immediately disproven thanks to social media videos and photos (normal wall-to-wall high traffic areas from years past were nearly empty)
- a venue change to a new, smaller, less accommodating convention hall in an entirely new city
- a *very* public crash out by the aforementioned narcissist and extremely messy social media threads to follow
Others have better to say and more to say as I was never a volunteer. Just an attendee that wasn't very plugged into the con scene except for my once a year trek to Columbus every January. But the slow crash and burn I've been kept aware of as Ohayocon pleads for my attendance like a desperate ex trying to control the narrative of a friend group post messy break up is something that has entertained me for years. Hopefully no one falls for this act, and if they were not in the #no-hayocon Discord, will look at posts/arguments from that time and not just this sanitized history being peddled out.

Last month we reported on Ohayocon's organizers CESI filing a lawsuit against Sekaicon's organizers Sekai Guild (though it should be noted t
