part 1 My grandfather was a great story teller. Of all the credit I give my grandmother for my talents I sometimes forget how much he influenced my ability to share a moment in time. He had this amazing way of transporting you into that place with his voice, his hands, and his face. A very strong willed and at times harsh individual, my grandfather has a heart that you could warm your hands to on a cold winterβs night. But this is hopefully going to be less about my grandfather than the story I wanted to share. I am going to tell the story through my eyes as he shared it with us that night over dinner. One of my favorite stories he had ever shared with me was one he told about the cat and dog that he owned when he was much younger. βWe use to live on a farm back when I was a kid β, knowing my grandfather and his past you would have never guessed him to be the farm boy type, and he was not, βand we had this barn out back. Sort of run down, but the barn served its purposeβ he said it with a smile that led you to believe that the purpose was nonexistent. βWe had this dog and cat that just hated each other. Fight, fight, fightβ¦ Ohhh how they would go at it. Well the cat lived in that barn.β he said while rubbing away BBQ sauce from his cheek and chuckling because he already knew the end of the story and wanted you to also,β It was the only place that cat could go to find some peace from that dog.β #YoungLove #WooTheGirl #TellHerAStory #MakeHerLaugh #LoversInLove #GrandParents #RebeccaAndHenry#MissingYou #Brooklyn #NewYork #vintage #ClassicPhotograph #SavedPicture #Colorized #Restored #StoryOfTheDay #PoemOfTheDay #story #poem #ππ #PictureOfTheDay #PhotoOfTheDay #π·π #CTSelf (at Brooklyn, New York) https://www.instagram.com/p/CNz0bfThwie/?igshid=dwk5ylwr6dc6
