THERE’S A LAUGH.  not because anything that has been said is funny, no, it’s all n e r v e s. could hughes be really referring to him ?  the fact that shifty talk of family and relations could have pinpointed the other to the reality that is an alias ?  no, certainly not. while the other was easy on the eyes, no doubt, he wasn’t....as bright. definitely brighter than some (sam, in particular), but jaylen couldn’t possibly imagine him being smart enough to put the pieces together.

HE THINKS FOR A MOMENT,  and when he does give an answer, it’s accompanied by a shrug.

POOR, POOR HUNTER.  he’d rehabilitated himself back to the side of the underdogs, but now ? their positions were switched. now, he had been so cautious to make sure no one caught on to the shift in his demeanor since his party.

WHAT THE HELL??  words die in her throat as she tries to grasp for air.  numbers and math were definitely not her thing  ,  yet freya was so sure she could decode and do the puzzle without too much trouble  ---  instead it almost costed her LIFE.  truth be told  ,  she wasn’t very keen on having hunter around her  ,  mostly because he didn’t seem to be brightest crayon in the pack when it came to puzzles  ,  and also because BAD things would always happen with him around.

NEVER TURN YOUR BACK ON SOMEONE,  no matter how calm they may seem. everyone is capable of becoming dangerous with one small opening given in a moment of i g n o r a n c e. twas the exact reason he was currently in this predicament, hunter holding him from behind, knife resting just against the skin of his neck. he doesn’t squirm, no, knowing one wrong move and he’d end up bleeding out on the floor, but he does make an effort to assess the situation.
