I'm having a really hard time controlling my attitude towards hearing people lately. The other night I found myself thinking something I haven't thought in a very long time. I found myself thinking, " I hate hearing people". I know the statement itself is not true and even considering the heat of the moment the thought surprised me. I'm just...tired. I'm tired of being treated like a subhuman by people who don't know any better. I'm tired of lipreading. I'm tired of explaining.  I'm tired of, as dramatic as it sounds, changing myself to better fit in, where I don't. Truth is I'm tired of being mainstreamed in general.  Which is probably the worst realization to have a week before the new trimester starts.
