This one was so much fun to do, I had such a blast getting to work on a character design like this. Ummm my only exposure to the house of leaves is shitposts on tumblr.com and alivemanor on ao3 by famous writer hallowlock, so I have no idea how to answer this, but here's my thoughts based on everything I am pretty sure I know.
Katagawa jr can't survive The House, he's already experiencing some Sins Of The Father type bullshit and he's clearly doing bad at that. I think he'd settle in and just try to work with the situation as much as possible while slowly going insane, and when that inevitably fails, he'll go crazy and just give into it.
Mephisto would survive The House because it is Crazy and that's not even a competition. Doesn't even try to process the metaphors or anything it is simply surviving. The House gets pissed off and tries to get them to go back in but Mephisto is so dense in that regard they genuinely are just going "Thog Don't Care" at it all (Mephisto is an actively depressed + psychosis having creature so this would be like, a bad thursday)
Archer is the same answer as Katagawa because canonically he's already struggling with immense guilt and internalized homophobia so. No. His ass is never getting out of The House

Jonah Caede (He/It), also known by his (much more popular) act name "One eyed Hound", is the protagonist of Caede Tales and a huge pain in the ass just in general. Lover of machines and hater of pretty much everything else, Jonah spends a lot of his time with his friends going around Pandora and setting up shop at random popular locations in order to hopefully attract the eyes of visiting tourists and vault hunters, looking to find new challenges in the planet... only to end up in the same ditch they all do, stripped clean of all belongings. It primarily acts as a "bodyguard" in this operation, initially defending whatever poor sod happens to hire the services, only to then swiftly deliver an axe strike directly to the back of their head, or push them into their doom. It doesn't pledge allegiances to anyone outside its circle of friends, so really it was their fault for believing it was here to help them.
- Jonah has a lot of flat effect on his voice, and it gets exacerbated further as he doesn't talk a lot. It makes his voice sound kind of growly and angry constantly, even when he's really not. This combined with the fact he has like 2 expressions makes him particularly hard to read.
- Despite his gruff exterior (and interior), Jonah sincerely cares for his friends and is incredibly passionate about his interests, it just struggles with demonstrating any of it due to being afraid of losing everything if he does. This makes it so he overcompensates by playing the Idgaf war completely straight.
- Has a skag named Beef, accidentally trained him into being both an attacking animal and an emotional/physical support pet. Somehow pulls off both quite well.
- Made its axe all on its own ! Maisy has been its most consistently used weapon for a very long time, but it has been recently gotten even more intense with the way its been developing some real affections towards it. Tends to be kinder to the axe than to other human beings...
- Brother in blood to Archer, and Brother in consideration to Salt. They're his favourite people by a BIG margin, do NOT separate.
- Loves machinery, likes to fix robots and build his own kinds of machines during his free time. There's a certain kinship there, the kind that becomes more apparent when he starts to ramble about them the second he has any prompting to do so. Maybe it's about being useful, maybe he just like to do things with his hands and be preoccupied with Something, either way it's still clear how much he cares.
- DESPISES vault hunters with a vehement passion and has done so since he was small. Tends to savour the killing blows whenever they come around.
- Actually very good at cooking for some reason. Tends to be the one making meals for the other hireguns 99% of the time.

Archer Caede (He/Him, allegedly), also known by his act name The Sureshot, is the secondary protagonist of Caede Tales and the leader of the Hireguns. A smooth-talking criminal with ambitions much bigger than himself, he spends a lot of his time with his friends going around Pandora and setting up shop at random popular locations in order to hopefully attract the eyes of visiting tourists and vault hunters, all looking to find challenges and sights around the planet... only to end up in the same ditch they all do, stripped clean of all belongings. He embodies the Leader of the operation, offering guidance, tips and ammo for whatever poor sod happens to cross his path, knowing they'll end up with a blade in their backs either way. Archer tends to bite off more than he can chew and shoot for stars much outside his reach, but it doesn't stop him from getting back up and trying again... Always.
- Archer is the speaker for the group most often, harkening with the responsibility of looking out for everyone and ensuring safety... for his own guys. The tourists? He could care less most of the time. Every now and then he'll show a shred of compassion or pity, but those moments are few and far in-between. Getting him to sympathize with anyone is a monumental task of its own.
- Archer's cheery disposition and near permanent smile are part of the character he plays for the operation, but it's also a part of the person he pretends to be around people just in general. Some time ago, he found out people liked him more if he was smiling, and so he's been doing it pretty much all day, everyday.
- ...Around people, at least. On his own, Archer tends to be more introspective and quiet, usually dissociating for long periods of time if left unchecked as his mind tends to wander a lot. ALWAYS extremely alert to the point of absurdity however, so he can switch it on and off as needed.
- Brother in blood to Jonah, and Brother in consideration to Salt. Considers the three of them to be a package deal, and would hate to be separated.
- Walks around terrifyingly quiet, even when he doesn't mean to, and ends up scaring people a lot. Learnt this behaviour from his mentor Levant and her very intense training on sniping, but ended up internalizing it for his day to day life. A pattern of behaviour that surely repeats in No Other Areas.
- Insists on being seen as normal and as boring as a human being can get, to the point of suppressing his own interests and passions from the public, in order to maintain his untouchable persona. No one is quite sure of what he likes or what he wants, and that makes it a lot easier to conceal his real ambitions... which, come to think of it, he doesn't know them that well either. It's all hidden between layers of irony he's not willing to lift yet.
- Gun was a rare find from a vault hunter he looted, switchblade was a gift from his mentor, and the charm on it was a rare find in a garage sale. Score !!!!

He's. Well. As good as he can be at the moment !!!!
Truth be told. Teddy isn't doing too hot on any fronts. He's trying his best of course, but there's only so many pretty powerpoints and charts a kid can throw together to run an entire corporation, so people don't really respect him. And it's really not his fault either. He's like 9 ! He basically didn't have any proper training ! One day he was learning multiplication with a private tutor, the next he was put in charge of well over a million factories !! It's Scary !!!! He's trying very hard to process that, and to deal with the responsibility thrown on his shoulders the best he can. The fact they haven't gone bankrupt yet is only because he's trying so hard it's making other people who work with him feel bad, so work hard as well, if only to keep it together a little while longer.
That being said however βοΈ I have been pondering him a lot lately, so I do want to share some trivia on him <3
- Teddy's parents recently got divorced in an incredibly public scandalous way, but he doesn't really know what is happening at all due to being very sheltered. It really doesn't matter either way, because he's come to think of his robot bodyguards more as parents than his actual biological parents.
- Speaking of being very sheltered, Teddy has no contact with people his own age, he's usually surrounded exclusively by adults. The only exposure he has to other kids is on his tablet, where he watches children's shows and movies mostly unsupervised save for hos robot bodyguards. Playgrounds are rented out for him whenever he wants to go out, he's heavily monitored when he's outside, and most kids his own age would 100% bully him so he's shit out of luck on the friendship department.
- Before his father passed the CEO mantle to Teddy, the plan was for his older brother, Harold, to take over the corporation. This quickly became unviable, as Harold was unceremoniously murdered in Pandora by bandits after telling them he was a, quote, "Aspiring Vault hunter". Teddy does not know this, and just assumes he'll be back any day now.
- (Teddy also doesn't know that his sister Aubrey was only skipped in the line because she's a girl. He can't really comprehend structural misogyny and she hasn't told him either on account of him being 9 years old and unable to do anything about it.)
Welcome to the first real Magnus art post of 2026, we're starting off strong with a remake of my Deltarunesona, Poggo Styx !!
Poggo (They/Them) is a robodog styled after smart toys from the 2000's. Once an independent agent in Cybercity through the operator's toy website, now an entertainer and local nuisance in the Dreemur residence, all after one eventful christmas... While originally meant for Asriel, Kris ended up being the one who played the most with them, and even when they played rough, Poggo proved to be sturdy enough to last an entire childhood, even as their polish slowly chipped away with time. Nowadays, since the kids are both too big to be seen playing with toys, they've been stashed away safely by Toriel in the cabinet under the TV...
In the Dark World, things are going pretty well. They've signed a contract under Tenna out of boredom, and are now all too happy to go along with whatever dumb stunt Tenna offers them. Some things never change...
β Poggo can stretch indefinitely in the Dark world, and can genuinely use this for harm if they so wish, but they're so unserious 99% of the time they don't realise their own strength and just use it for dumb pranks.
β LOVES Asriel and Kris. Those crazy kids were always up for a good time, it was never quiet when they were around !... Where are they now, anyway ? (Doesn't know Asriel went to college. Or rather, does know, but keeps ignoring the passage of time in order to maintain Nonchalant facade)
β Looked through a shadow crystal once, but their vision is so poor they straight up saw nothing, so they just got bored and threw it away. This action had no ramifications #trust
β A different version of them exists in Cyberworld, still plaguing the barely functioning website of their Toy manufacturer. They're technically the same person while also being completely different. This information makes them feel Normal and Good also.
β Just powerful enough to have a level of influence in their area, which is why the firebarkers look the way they do. They treat them like their own litter and are very affectionate. They're not really under Tenna's contract, so they survive off that affection alone, pretty much.

how would they feel abt having to spend time around the others family? not like in passing or by association but a considerable amount of time in close proximity. how would their families feel abt them?

Archer only has his brother And His family now, if that counts, as his parents have died a while ago... But if we are to indulge it and put it in a timeline where they're not dead yet, it's still probably for the best they don't meet, given Lucio was pretty notoriously homophobic and would For Sure not approve of them. But even just pushing that aside for minute and pretending like he wouldn't be throwing slurs around, the fact Hansuke is a Katagawa, a corporate man in a corporate family that was born into luxury, lived pampered in a planet that doesn't even have 43 hours of sunlight and murderous creatures everywhere, is dating his son that he Already Hates for being soft and prissy... Yeah, uh, I think that's going about as good as you imagine.
Lucio is naturally very intimidating, but he loves to act oblivious to this like he isn't (he's Extremely aware of his reputation and How He Looks), and he also refuses to initiate conversation unless someone intervenes and says something. He is Horrible at hosting. Hansuke does not know how to approach him and it sucks because he really would like to make a good impression on the Patriarch around here (raised like that), but it's complicated because he's not even being given a chance. Someone kill him again please.
Maria is a lot more mellow in comparison. She's very easy going, very naturally friendly, and she loves people a lot, especially if her kids like them first. She doesn't much know about corporations or business, but she can see Hansuke is a good lad because Archer likes him, and therefore, he must be a good person too, because she taught him very well. Hansuke would be very overwhelmed by her kindness and kind of cling to her everytime Archer isn't around.
Jonah... it's a little hard to say, but I think they'd at least be friendly enough to talk. Jonah doesn't want to be unfair to Kat because obviously he's already nervous dealing with his fuckass dad, but he's also not great with conversation. I think they'd find some common ground in guns and how their corporations handle it. It would then turn into a debate about powerscaling. It has fun talking about these kinds of things, so it ends up having a good time with someone he'd otherwise be neutral on. Hansuke is also pretty happy to have a Normal conversation with someone for once, he thinks Jonah is pretty educated and cool. Now he knows why Archer doesn't stfu about him /silly
As for the opposite... Archer would get way too nervous around the Katagawas. He sees them sometimes for business reasons, and it's hard for him to separate them from the people they are as professionals. He'd be very intimidated and trying a little hard to make a good impression. And Hansuke would get extremely jealous sorry he's not mature at all, people in his family have a history of taking his things away from him whenever just because he's the youngest, and he's not letting them take HIS Ace away from him now !!!!!!!!!! So he's just clinging to him like this the whole time
The thing about Hansuke's family is they don't.... really act like a family at all, for the majority of their time spent together. They act more like highly competitive coworkers who don't respect each other, especially without Katagawa Sr or their moms to mediate things. It usually devolves into extremely loud arguments where everyone is fighting over dinner even if it's because of something small. Hansuke is no exception to this, but the way people treat him especially because he's younger influences his negative view of them a lot. Katagawa Sr doesn't bother to show up because it "doesn't feel important enough" and "they already met before", so it doesn't matter. Hansuke feels hurt about it and externalizes it to Everyone Else. Archer wouldn't know what to do and mostly just shrink and watch while he isn't being talked to because it feels too awkward to speak up. No one acknowledges him while they're fighting among themselves.
Hansuke's siblings treat Archer more like an exotic pet he brought with him than an actual person, let alone his boyfriend, and it really does piss Hansuke off to see how Archer has no room to stand up in here because he's just Scared. He overcompensates a lot by answering for him and defending him Furiously, and it doesn't leave a lot of room for them to talk one on one with him at all. They probably leave early after one too many intrusive questions, and Hansuke promises they never have to do this ever again. Archer leaves with a brand new understanding of Why Hansuke is Like That. Very bad taste in his mouth !!!
