So, from a basic flying beater to one that, first, will remain untapped to defend, and second, will require it damage something before it can be targeted. So, either it has to block something on attack, BE block, or connect. So to rephrase, before you can kill/remove it, it will likely take something out first, or take a swath of life off. Not a bad tradeoff for -1/-1.

Looking at Core 2019 so far, the only way I would purchase this set is if boosters were like $2. It's a shame that instead of "we need a place to reprint staples (at least for newer players) such as Naturalize and Pacifism for standard" like previous Core Sets (after Magic 2010) seemed to have turned into "we need to make the free starter decks an entire set" like 100 cards are up and not a single interesting one. Giganatosaurus is the most interesting one as a 10/10 for GGGGGG.
