These things that happen to me, they are not like in stories, tragedy cocks the hammer whether the poignant words are said or not- Does that make it less of a love story? Does it make it hurt any less?
I reread Becoming Eden once again & had to get some Vash Feelings out of my system. Thank you to @madnessmadness for writing the Trigun fic of all time <3

Sci-fi legend @madnessmadness is among us π½ Words alone aren't enough for Leni. Ze wields HTML and ASCII art as masterfully as ze does raw emotion. What's more: Leni masterminded many a popular headcanon in this fandom!
what kind of cratures do you think the trigun gang would be?
CREATURES IN GENERAL OR SEA CREATURES. BECAUSE MY FRIEND MONTY N I WERE JUST TALKING ABOUT TRIGUN FURSONAS THE OTHER DAY. but i am the sea creature guy at heart so im gonns give u those i hope that is ok π there are many benefits to being a marine biologist.
Vash: he is... so very shark coded to me. everyone looks at him and sees a dangerous killing machine. frequently covered in scars. do u see the connection here. he is specifically a thresher shark to me because of the whole sharpshooter thing and also the sad sad puppydog eyes π
Wolfwood: i am torn between two different types of eels for him. giant morays are more aesthetically pleasing but personally i have to go with a wolf eel both for the name and because ive worked with these guys before and theyre sooooo cool so im biased
Meryl: not technically a sea creature because she is just so bird coded to me. White-Tailed Tropicbird
Milly: is it cheating to have two cephalopods on this list. because i think i really want to say giant pacific octopus for milly. either that or a whale shark π yes those are two completely different animals no i will not be taking criticism at this time
bonus Knives because i love him and i feel the most strongly about this one:
BOBTAIL SQUID.
... and also a bristle worm . for what i hope are obvious reasons
are you still doing Zelda Tarot readings? I'd love a general pull if you are and also pics or a link they sound so cool!

There is a peaceful time coming your way. You have spent time building up a solid foundation, and soon enough you will be able to rest upon that foundation. There was a lot of discipline and planning that will bring you to this sense of peace -- it wonβt be a random happenstance.
Or maybe this means you will get a new dog and/or should adopt a doggie ;) Or you should go out and pet a dog. Dogs could be very important is what Iβm saying!

This is a little more than 500 and itβs NOT GOOD I AM SORRY
"I'd like to borrow your cat."
Miriam sets down the gravy boat heavily, watching me as if she wishes she had something else to look at. She's an impressive woman. She owns the tavern on the ground floor, and a small collection of cigarette boxes she bought from a visiting Chinaman, and her vast stores of good sense. She's been a dear friend since my arrival, and kind enough to invite me to dinner, knowing I survive off the grocer's slightly soft peaches and bread from the innkeeper's wife, who pities me.
"Why would you want to do that?" She asks after a moment.
"I intend to speak to her." I've always been impertinent. Hard to break that habit.
"Who?" Miriam does a passable job at acting, but her gaze is too hard.
"The woman who lives in the woods."
"Ain't no woman livin' in the woods." Her tone is identical to a schoolmarm nursing her last frayed nerve. "And I shouldn't'a ever told you about them hills. You got more'n enough to put in that book without meddlin' in things that ought not to be touched."
I came to Ellsby for the animals. Rumors have been traveling down country roads for decades, people claiming that the forest has been invaded by devils. The animals, they say, make a noise unlike any other, one that cannot be described and never quite forgotten. Of course, no one in town is especially forthcoming about these stories, despite being some of the most talkative and welcoming people I've come across. They offer up an absolute gold mine of superstitions and old wives' tales, but knowing the various omens of partridges and how to worship on full moons is nothing more than filler for my book.
I cannot spin a whole chapter out of every day habits. I will leave Ellsby before the winter comes, and I intend to have answers for both the animals, which I have yet to see or hear, and the woman who, I suspect, lives among them. Miriam is irritatingly lock-jawed about both subjects, though I managed to ring the apparent necessity of cats out of her.
"You have living, breathing folklore less than a day's walk from town," I say. "How can I ignore that?"
"If you got any sense," she mumbles, "you'll keep your head down and your mouth shut, like the rest of us."
She pauses her meal to tighten the ribbon holding her long, dark hair. I'd never seen her bother with pins, just strips of leather cord and hatbox ribbons. I give attention to dinner, though my eyes are drawn repeatedly to the fluffy black cat lounging on an armchair. Her name is Clearwater. I can't deny that my mind lingers on plans to steal her, if she'll allow it, for a day and no more. Like all the cats here, she wanders free, in and out of buildings. Miriam will hardly notice her absence and I can return her before anyone else might question mine.
"Have you spoken with her?" I ask when I cannot contain my curiosity a second more.
"Who?" Miriam eyes me.
"The woman who lives in the woods."
The mysterious woman had appeared in town two weeks after myself, like the whisper of a storm. I watched as the grocer stood by while she took what she wanted. I watched her strange, black and gray hounds search the dirt road outside for scraps. I watched the woman take a freshly poured glass of bourbon from Miriam's bar top and drink it by herself in the corner. I watched her vanish into the trees not twenty minutes later, and not a soul in town stirred at her presence. Not a one of them would speak a word while she tarried, and none would admit to it once she'd gone.
"Don't ask me about that." Miriam snaps. "You're a clever girl, Miss Fleming, but you got some things yet to learn."
"At least tell me she's real," I pleaded. Despite my choice in work, I promise I am not one for superstition. Even the most inexplicable reports of the supernatural can be answered by examining human nature. Every folktale starts somewhere. But the woman from the woods has left me shaken.
Miriam watches the clock on the mantle for a full minute. Across the room, Clearwater stretches her thick toes, yawns, and stares at me. Finally, Miriam stands. She douses the candles on the table, then the lamps, then draws the curtains completely closed against the evening sky. The room feels dense in the darkness. If it's pageantry, I'm still taken by it, the way even the greatest skeptic is captivated by a well-made seance.
"We call her the Hillwoman," she says softly. Her voice trembles. "Been there long as I can remember, long as my mama could remember. None of us know when she came here, whether she settled them hills or sprouted from their dirt, made from the land, for the land. We do for her, and she does for us, and I won't tell you no more than that."
