Located at the bottom of Macquarie Pass, west of Albion Park in Wollongong, you can reach 3 different tiers of falls with a short, comfortable and beautiful 20 minute walk. Once you reach the bottom of Macquarie Pass, park off to the right in front of the large open grassy space. You will find the start of the track well sign posted at the end of the paddock. The first tier of the falls is not my favourite - it is quite unimpressive, shaded for the majority of the day, and - of course the biggest downside in my eyes - there is nowhere to swim! To the right of these falls you will find some large, steep steps to climb that will take you to the second tier falls - my favourite of the 3 - in no time at all. This tier gets some sunlight during the middle of the day, and I believe that is the best time to swim as it lights the secret swimming hole beautifully and also makes the nippy freshwater more bearable! There is a third tier that can be reached quite easily with a bit of a climb through the bush. There isnโt anywhere to swim here, but makes for a great photo op with the enormous fallen log and small waterfall. For more information, click on each of the photos below. Take some friends and some food and enjoy this beautiful local spot this summer!
