"“Everyone has a family. You didn’t spring from the ground like a mushroom.” I cocked my head. “Did you?”
“I’m just like you,” he replied, missing my joke entirely. “As hard as I might find that to believe.”"
Four Dead Queens
Things I liked:
-   The whole concept for the story was really fun to read.  Like the jumping between POV’s and time frames kept the story really interesting.  And this is one of the few books where there was not a POV that I dreaded reading.Â
- Â Â Now I am not the person to come asking for a creepy books but this one was up there for me! Â Like the death scenes were just so vivid in my mind that it really gave everything I needed from this kind of a story.Â
- Â Â I liked how the romance was not the highlight go the story. Â it was like a nice little side dish that was just fun to read about. Â Sometimes stories that are like murder mystery kind of things the romance can take away but I liked it in this book. Â
Things I didn't like:
- Â Â I wish we never had the scene where Varin felt betrayed by Keralie. Â I wish it ws kind of spun that he didn't actually betray her. Â But I get why it had to happen. Â Like that was worth it to get to the part where Kera found out she had been controlled by Mackiel.Â
Overall:
- Â Â Â This book gave me all the creepy crawly vibes that I want from a book in October. Â Like I was not expecting this mix of murder mystery/sci-fi/ fantasyish story! Â It was such a surprise and I loved it. Â The whole story was set up in a really cool and different way. Â Like it never felt like the story was dragging on or was trying to fill in gaps. Â Everything had a purpose and reason behind it. Â The amount of twists and turns in this book was so amazing. Â I don't think I saw a single one coming. Â Like I could sense when someone was going to die but like the other stuff was such a shock and I loved it. Â Defiantly recommend this book for your creepy autumn vibe reading. Â
