50 Things you might Love or Hate about my main character
His name is E'shi Hunter.
He's the best big brother ever.
He likes peace and quiet.
He unintentionally also has the same diagnosis as me…
He's the densest kid in his village. Not dumb, just dense.
Despite the strong romantic subplot, he's demisexual.
He loves Isa because she's Isa.
His hair is wavy, which makes him really hard to draw. (For me, someone else could probably do it better)
His parents are the best.
His parents are alive and survive the book.
He calls his little sister cariad, she also survives the book.
He calls Isa tatena, which is Elven for heart's home.
He can speak the Dragon Tongue (which should be impossible for a humanoid).
His dad is an elf and his mom is a human.
He's a bit of an outcast.
His favorite place is the woods.
He throws up after his first dragon flight.
He looks really good in blue.
He can read and write in two languages.
Including Dragon, he speaks three.
He learned to respect women early.
His mom used to be a knight.
He's really bad at rescue plans.
Like really, really bad. Like it's a major plot point how bad he is at this.
He has panic attacks that might actually be meltdowns. (I was still figuring mine out ok?)
He is, again unintentionally, a lot like me.
He is related to both the human king (by blood) and the elven king (by marriage).
His elven grandfather is the actual worst.
He has no idea when he's being flirted with.
One of his closest friends is a deer.
The deer might not be a normal deer.
He's spoke directly with the first dragon to ever walk Theondra. (The world he lives in)
Someday, eventually, he's going to be a really good dad.
He never kills anybody despite being a teen protagonist of a fantasy novel.
He's a beginner with a sword, and it shows.
He's much better with a bow, which he hardly ever uses in the book… my bad.
His favorite food is just bread.
I would trust him with my life but not an object I didn't want to lose.
He does not understand why people can't just be nice to each other.
He likes dragons more than people…like me…I swear to you this was not my intent. Ok, maybe this one was on purpose, but not the others.
He's going to have a glow up between books one and two. (Like Hiccup!)
He becomes book boyfriend material. (He's also an adult in book 2)
He cares about his family.
He also finds new family.
He goes through some hard and dark stuff, but comes out of it.
He shows mercy, even if someone doesn't deserve it.
Oh, and his book is done and I published it. It's The Mercy of Dragons by RR Stockton. (If you request it from your library they should be able to find it)
