To those world-weary survivors who shun Cybertronian space, and know the old ways of seeing through our disguises; to those eager civilizations launching themselves to the stars, and entering the galactic community for the first time; to the uncomprehending families ground beneath the heels of metal men from the stars… the “machine wars” are known in the way one knows a natural disaster. How could they possibly care for the difference between Thunderclash, and Optimus Prime? What difference does it make whether it is Megatron, or Megaplex who burns their homes? We must all answer for this bloodshed—and I fear many of us never will.

wada sez: The short-lived Machine Wars: Transformers toyline was a spinoff of Beast Wars using some unreleased Generation 2 molds, where the gimmick was that instead of turning into organic beasts, they all turned into vehicles. Very meta, huh? The general vibe of this comic seems to be inspired by Beast Machines, with the good guys returning to Cybertron only to find that Megatron has taken over the planet.
