armand really sat there and listened to louis describe how he used a machete to take out some of the theatre de vampires members and thought “huh, i really need to get me a few of those”
If it's not too much of a spoiler, is there a story behind the name Gutter? Did she choose that name for her sword? Was it given to her? Was it dropped in a gutter?
Oh, we can give an answer for that! So this is the official design for Gutter, as created by @holographicgoblinking, the show's art director and the voice of Jesse Bazooka:
And Gutter is actually based on essentially a fusion of a machete and a knife with a gut hook:
So essentially, Gutter is called Gutter because the way it's designed means that when Faustina shoves it into the torso of her opponent and rips it out, the gutting hook pulls the guts out with it 💙
These are supposedly Colombian military surplus machetes. I have no idea how true that is and either way they mostly feel cheap and kind of bad, but hey, I got all five for thirty-five dollars and for seven bucks each I wasn't expecting much more than handy beaters anyway.
I wonder how many machetes I have now. More than I'll ever need, at any rate.

In other news, while I was gone I went on a month long mission trip that was AWESOME and also there were some legit Jason Whittaker level adventures involved
So many machetes...
At some point in my youtube watching, I watched a video that showed cool/clever industrial machines. So from time to time I get another one recommended to me. I watched one last night and one segment was about a factory in Columbia that manufactures machetes. And it was like, A LOT of machetes, like a million machetes a month, which is a ridiculous number of machetes.
So many questions...How many machetes does the world need? This can’t be the only machete factory, so what is the worldwide production of machetes? Do the machetes wear out quickly and have to be replaced often? Or is there a huge demand as non-machete owners realize “hey I really need a machete!”? Do I need to ask my doctor if machetes are right for me?
