Honestly Indy, I just wanted to say as I’ve gotten back into trying to write again recently, you’re one of the few folks whos writing advice I keep periodically coming back to because I’ve found it actually helpful over the years. it’s been interesting looking at my old stuff vs what I write now and seeing how internalizing some of that advice has changed how I write things. You left good concrit on a fic of mine a few years ago about varying my word choices and I still think about it every time I sit down to write, just as one example.

Varying word choice is a really quick, easy way to make your writing a little more complex and interesting. That for me goes along with my no repetition rule that I made for myself many many years ago
So for awhile now, whenever the thought of Swansong crossed my mind again, I always thought about how I originally drew the little scene about Vincent remarking on Sebastian’s baking for you back when you were first writing the fic, and ultimately I kept having the urge to redraw the piece. I never truly captured what was going on there the first time around I felt. But five years later, as I was reading the fic again and found myself still loving that scene, I thought “why not give it a second go?” And safe to say, this time with the proper tools and more artistic experience, I think I got it right :)
All of this to say, thank you once again for writing this fic. It’s not often I’ve found writing that’s stuck with me so profoundly for so many years and that continues to give me new things to ponder with each subsequent read, but this fic has done just that, and I really do treasure it and the rest of your writing as well. No matter how long it takes, I Will see this fic through to the end, and that’s a promise.

do i ship them: i’m kind of take it or leave it! they’re not an otp but i don’t hate it either. for me personally i mostly ship them in the “these two pathetic freaks are dating and it’s funny” sort of way
why do i ship them: see above i guess. but on a more serious level it’s like... they’re really similar, right? they’re both fucked up twentysomethings who are just trying to keep it all together. in a scenario where things play out like they do in canon, amanda rescuing adam is a really nice parallel of the kindness that adam shows her before the bathroom, and i think that like... adam can give amanda the care and tenderness she needs to heal, while amanda can physically and emotionally be the person who’s like “excuse me he asked for no pickles” on adam’s behalf
opinion on their canon potential: what would have happened if amanda HAD gone to that concert with adam instead? or if the two of them had met prior to amanda getting embroiled in apprenticeship?
opinion on the fanon: most adamanda content i’ve seen really hones in on the “two sad damaged freaks” angle and tends to play it more comedically which is what i like to see. i’ve seen t4t adamanda here and there, but not NEARLY enough of it bc that’s the only way i ship them i’ll be honest

16. do you remember your first horror movie— yes! i grew up SUPER timid and terrified of scary movies. i don’t remember now why we decided this, but when i was 14 or so, me and my childhood best friend decided it was time to break the seal and start watching horror movies. the one that we picked to watch first was the original nightmare on elm street! and i LOVED it!!!
17. own any horror merch— LMAO i sure do. aside from dvds and video games, we’ve got some horror coasters for the living room (various properties), i have shirts for saw, the exorcist, and elm street 3, and then we’ve got some wall art!! a signed evil dead 2 print (bruce campbell), signed insidious 2 poster (leigh whannell), a saw film-strip wall display sort of thing. there’s probably more saw stuff i’m forgetting about tbh JDJDJSHSJ
22. opinion on horror-comedies— a well-executed one SLAPS. i LOVE stuff like tucker & dale vs evil, gravy, and cooties! that said i’m not as fond of the ones in the vein of scary movie or a haunted house— those always felt like cheap cash-ins on whatever the current horror trend is, as opposed to something made with genuine love & respect for the genre.

it makes me SO sick that he debuted in 06 because i KNOOOOOOW that that absolutely obliterated any plans they had for him past that first game. (he was supposed to have a solo game!) i think he’s such a cool character and his design is so fun and he’s just gotten DUST ever since 06. a lot of the games love to treat him as ridiculously naive and childish when like! the point is that he’s so positive and earnest bc he’s from a doomed future! he’s PROJECTING!
anyways i haven’t really seen him treated well in any major sonic media... ever, sadly, except for the IDW comics. justice for my boy silver! he deserves to be playable in a good game that isn’t a spin-off
