“When will he be here??” Your 5 year old niece whined. “Soon, I promise.” For Halloween, you volunteered to take her trick or treating. She absolutely adored your boyfriend so you asked him to come with you. When the doorbell rang, she bolted to the door and screamed with joy. You opened the door and were greeted with Jay. He stepped in and gave you a kiss on the cheek. “Hey beautiful.” He whispered in your ear. “JayJay!!” You niece exclaimed. He leaned down and scooped her up in his arms.
“How’s my baby?” He smiled. “Better now that your here! Come on, I wanna show my costume!” She wiggled free and lead him up to her room. You sighed and followed behind. “Look! I’m gonna be Unicorn!” She ran into her closet and put on her costume. She came out in a rainbow dress with a unicorn face on the front and wing on the back. She twirled around. “You look so magical!” Jay smiled. “And guess what?” She started, “Y/N is gonna be a unicorn too!” Jay turned to you, “Really?” He said teasingly. “Remember I’m just wearing a headband.” You told her. You kneeled down to her level and she put a unicorn horn on your head.
Jay snickered quietly. You gave him side eye in response. “Don’t worry love, you make the cutest unicorn.” He said. You niece tugged in Jay’s shirt, “JayJay will you dress up too? Please.” “Uhhh…” He started. When he looked down he saw your niece giving him puppy eyes, and that was his biggest weakness. “Sure.” You heard the doorbell ring, “Alright, you guys get ready and I’m gonna take care of trick or treaters, then we’ll go.”

After giving the candy out and setting out a bowl of candy on the front porch, you went back up. You walked in and attempted to hold in your laughter. “So…uhhh…what’s been going on in here?” You said trying your hardest not to laugh. “I gave JayJay a unicorn makeover!” Your niece said smiling. Jay had parts of his hair in pink clips, with a unicorn headband on. As well as attempted sparkly purple eyeshadow around his eyes and bright pink lip gloss around his lips. You could see the pain is his eyes. “It looks amazing.” You told her, “Are you ready to get going?” She nodded and ran to her bag.
Jay stood up. You opened your mouth to say something but Jay cut you off, “Not a word.” You pulled him to you and smiled. “You look so pretty.” You teased. “Let’s go.” He said as he pouted.

As you guys walked around the neighborhood, your niece found some of her friends. You and Jay walked behind them. By the end of night, your niece gathered enough candy to last her till Easter. When you made it back to the house, you told it her out was bedtime but she asked to organize her candy first. “JayJay, will you help me?” Jay agreed. The three of you settled in the living room with you in the couch and them on floor. As you watched you, your heart melted with how sweet Jay was with her. Watching them together made you think about how Jay would be with your kids when you were older. Just the thought of marrying him gave you butterflies.
After sometime, there was small piles of candy scatter around. You and Jay put her to bed. As you closed her door, Jay went to wash of the makeup. You plopped down on the couch. As much as you loved your niece she was a lot. Jay joined you after he finished. You snuggled next to him. “Thank you for being so sweet with her.” You said. Jay kissed the top of your head.
