Fables - 3.6 (Tulip)
To be idle in a singular spot was not encrypted into the pixie’s code of design, no -- her movements were fleeting, too ephemeral for one to fully grasp her presence. Tulip was ecstatic to attend the celebration of the summer solstice, an opportunity to immerse herself in the drama of the festivities, to dance and sing and eat as many sweets as she could. And of course, to get a glimpse (and a dance or three!) of and with her one and only sovereign, King Brenhin. She knew he was going to be lovely today, he was always extravagant; the thought of him made her squeal about as she darted through the forest of taller folk. Lip was only four-foot-ten while glamoured from her usual smaller form, which made her still the shortest of them all. The pixie paid no mind -- no ma’am, no ham, no turkey! It was actually quite fun at this height without her gossamer wings to help her fly. She could spread her arms and touch the soft fabrics of dresses and capes and trains, making tribute to the design and details everyone put into their attires. Everyone was oh so pleasing to look at.
As she flitted about, her short dress of ruffled tulle bounced around her tiny architecture as if it was floating on her person, held up by the intricate beadwork that cascaded over her shoulders in complicated filigree. She was also barefoot. Tulip liked to feel the grass and concrete beneath her feet; why not while spending time on the ground if you couldn’t appreciate it properly? Save for an anklet with the same beads matching her dress, her other adnorment was her mask. It was silver and delicate like the skeletons of leaves wove their way around her mismatched eyes of hazel and green, specifically made for her. And while she could have probably done something with her malachite-colored hair, she didn’t think it needed anything flashy except for her usual tag-a-long and faux barrett, Tuna, her pet bumblebee that clung to her hair for a ride. A dusting of pollen decorated a few strands of green tresses and the tip of her little nose.
She had made her rounds, scoping out absolutely every part of the party, dashing and twirling with the undulating waves of the music, her melodic giggles following in her wake. With her hands now full of petit, honeyed cakes, she glimpsed a male guest attempting to choose which drink he wanted. It was definitely in her nature to enchant the indecisive; she ascended to her tippy toes and leaned towards him.
“The blue one has dancer in it.” her tone was sing-song and embellished with a tinkling laugh before she flitted away; she was gone just as fast as she came.
Her sweet tooth was sated quickly as she devoured her floral-scented treats, getting colored sugar onto her cheeks and fingers. Tulip was in the middle of licking her digits clean when her bicolored gaze settled upon the fluttering and billowing of something white and noticeable. Her eyes followed the cape to land on the top of -- a few dancers obscured her view and she tottled sideways to get a better look. OH! Her attention was quickly distracted: King Brenhin was here, already occupying himself with a waltz partner. A dreamy sigh escaped as her head tilted sideways with a silly little grin present on her features. He was so beautiful to look at that it was almost painful. As he disappeared back onto the lively dance floor, Tulip’s focus slowly cleared from her obsession and she was back to staring at the figure who seemed to be rigid with a stillness that sent chills down her spin. And all he had to do was giggle and she knew exactly who that odd creature was!
Her teensy feet carried her across the way as she maneuvered towards the oracle and the unfortunate boy who happened to have Elric’s attention. No doubt that he was being super creepy (by the sound of that laugh) and. . . movement in her peripheral had caught her attention -- it was a girl walking towards the same two men. Tulip paused to watch, wanting to bother Elric but unsure of the others. As she joined them and they made conversation, the pixie decided to let them be and find some other sort of entertainment, which wasn’t hard for her.
Lip managed to find herself near an elaborate display of all kinds of flowers and she couldn’t help but run the tips of her fingers over their silky petals. Whoever had grown these, by magic or the old fashion way, she was sure to give a silent thanks for their beauty. She had plucked one from a vase and gently rubbed it against her cheek as she began to sashay, skillfully spinning on the balls of her feet with her eyes closed. Tulip was a solo dancer putting on her own little show until something of interest would distract her, an easy task.

&&. Task 1
Theme: Initiation
Location: Seoul, The Underground
Date: winter of 2011 - 2013
Triggers: violence, blood,
memorandum ↳ (letter-styled angst in which) Mingyu can’t cope with your breakup 2.2k+ words by meagan
Day 1
Is it considered cowardly to write an apology letter rather than actually apologizing? Oh, what’s it matter when I really am a coward. Ha. Really, though, I’m not even sure if I’m writing this to beg for your forgiveness or just to console the pathetic ache clenching at me with talons, due solely to my own stupidity… Likely the latter. The reality is, that no matter how much I pour my heart out, it will be completely in vain, as there proves no way possible this will ever reach you; I’m too much a dastard to will myself to send this to you.
However, in every manner and with every scratch of this floral-print pen against un-lined stationery, I expel that I am so sorry. Is there a right of me to say so, though? It’s no doubt you decided to leave me, really, I honestly don’t blame you. I’m nearly always late whenever the date proves most important, and even then I had the nerves to anger at your own fury and animosity.
To make matters worse, I’m not only never punctual but also the biggest asshole on the planet. I always acted so dense when it came down to your feelings, everything was solely about me, me, and, what do you know, more me. I stupidly envisioned that wherever I decided to go, you would so willingly follow; but now I’m fairly positive that you will never follow me again, and I won’t begin to know the pleasure that would come from trailing after you.
You told me I hardly told you of your worth to me, that I said “I love you” more within our first half-year than I have for the following year. I assume, now, that it’s much too late to tell you that I did love you. That I do love you. Or that I’ll, honestly, always love you.
Love, The idiot who let you leave: Mingyu
