You could still remember the day you met V. Jackie had brought him in when you were talking to Vik about an upgrade, and while you never really believed in “love at first sight”, V was quite the looker. Maybe it was that air of confidence around him or his calm and collected attitude. Whatever the case was, it made you fall, and you fell hard for him.

Jackie came up to you about a month later, giddy like a child and deciding to put on his best V act, mocking his friend's voice and stance and telling you all the things his friend never wanted anyone else to know. Sure, it was funny how Jackie had basically acted out a month's worth of V's confession to him, but it all made your heart race to know he felt the same way.

It still took you a good week to gather the courage to tell him, though. You always wondered if Jackie had just played up V's feelings to either make you feel better or just because he wanted to be overdramatic. But when you finally got a message from V, you nearly fell out of your chair.

V: wanna go to dinner tonight?

V: totally cool if you don't. Just wanna know...

You remember that giddy feeling, texting both Jackie and Misty and letting them know what happened. You could practically feel Jackie's excitement through his messages, while Misty had given you a free little reading on how the night would go. The cards said that everything would go well, you two would be happy, but things looked rocky in the future.

Regardless of it all, you two had hit it off that night. V looked his best, did all the things a gentleman would traditionally do like he had read it on some article before picking you up from your apartment. You appreciated the effort though. He didn't take you anywhere fancy, and you hadn't expected it. Really, it was just nice to talk and get to know each other better without Jackie's loud voice in the background.

And now, here you were, spending the night at his apartment like you lived with him, some of your spare clothes laying on the couch. He had suggested you leave extra outfits with him, in case you ever needed a quick place to crash or just didn't want to go home. You thought it was cute, especially when he ended up finding one of your hoodies that was his size. He pouted like a child when you had asked for it back, telling you that you could take one of his jackets and call it even.

His bed is soft, albeit messy, but you can look past that. You've been scrolling through your phone for the past half hour, V laying on top of you with his face nuzzled in the crook of your neck. He's giving you the occasional soft kiss, only lifting his head up to look at whatever you wanted to show him. It was nights like these that you loved, where all you two had to do was lounge around and relax in the comfort of his apartment. You could hear the sound of Night City outside, the horns of cars or the sirens of police, along with the occasional gunshot. Still, laying underneath V, you never felt safer.

“Mmm... did I tell you I managed to score a gig with Dexter DeShawn?” V's voice makes your skin rumble, and even though he's falling asleep, you can feel that excited smile sprawl across his lips. Had he told you about the gig? You vaguely remember him mentioning some job that would make him a lot of eddies, along with the promise of a much more lavish lifestyle for you two.
