That poll is cruel! How dare you ask me to choose between Sam Vimes and Sam Gamgee? (/joking)
My apologies 🤣 To be fair, I think Vimes would be fine with you voting for Samwise; Hobbits are generally law-abiding and live a long way from Ankh-Morpork, so definitely Vimes's sort of people 😁

Okay, because I'm still obsessed with the idea based on a post you reblogged a few days ago--how do you think the story would have been different if Gale were a girl (and everything else was the same)?
The particular point I'm stuck on most is that, as a girl, Gale and Katniss would be mutually exclusive draws for the Games, and I think that change adds a really interesting dimension.
Oh my god, yes, I've been thinking about it too. I think that they'd have a pact where they don't volunteer for each other (whether or not they'd adhere to it is a different story). Neither of them expected Prim to be called though- which was too much of a shock for Gale that she wouldn't even have to chance to consider volunteering before Katniss was already doing it. I think Gale would feel a lot of guilt about that one.
Some other things that would be slightly different, because even though "nothing else is different ", societal gender norms still exist. Panem is more equal in terms of gender, but it's still A Thing (girls take longer being prepped for the games, "ladies first", etc). Different sexualities are more accepted, but Panem is still heteronormative. Anyway:
There wouldn't be a need to make them cousins in the public eye
Gale's reputation would be different. In canon he's seen as a heart throb who's a great romantic prospect. As a girl, Gale would still be seen as a badass- but also as a bitch and would probably be slut shamed more
Katniss would be more aware of her own sexuality- nothing is different, including Gale making out with people (definitely girls). I still don't think they'd talk about it more, but having a queer bestfriend might make her more aware of her own queerness. I headcanon her as being on the aro/ace spectrum, but she'd assume she was bi because her attraction to different genders is the same (minimal to zero)
On a darker note: Katniss mentions that if she were a little older, she might be one of the girls lining up at the head peacekeepers' house. Gale *would* be slightly older so that's more of a possibility
D12 probably wouldn't be as ready to assume that they were dating
50/50 chance on whether Peeta would be more or less threatened by Gale as a romantic rival than he was in the first book
Do you have any headcanons about Percy and Audrey's daughters? Oddly specific headcanon questions (if you like): what are their favorite animals, and what are the things they do that most annoy their parents?
Dad was reading his paper. Mum was buttering her toast. Lucy was delicately drinking her morning coffee. Molly sat at the table with a loud thump, the buckles of her leather jacket clanking a bit.
"I cut my hair," Molly announced to the table.
"I saw," her father hummed, taking a bite of toast he hadn't bothered to put jam on.
"It's nice," her mother said with a smile. "Very tall!"
"It's a mohawk."
"Mmm hmm," said Dad, not bothering to look up at it again.
Molly crossed her arms. She'd hoped for more of a response than this. Lucy rolled her eyes and shook her head.
"Teddy's was taller. And blue."
"Well... Well I was considering changing the color. Everyone wants Weasley-red hair, and I'm just as ready to get rid of it. Might dye it."
"Dye it?" her father asked, finally looking over his paper. Oh he thought he was going to dictate to her that she couldn't dye her hair? Well he had another thought coming if-- "Red hair doesn't turn out all that well with a lot of different dyes, so you might want to get it done by a professional or something. Your Uncle Bill tried to dye his on his own and it turned the color of sick. If you need me to pay for it, I'm happy to, but you might want to just charm your hair instead. I'm not the best at them, but we can work on it together if you like."
"Oh why do I even BOTHER!" Molly let out, kicking the table leg.
Her dad was looking at her with a bored expression. "Bother with what?"
"NEVERMIND!" Molly barked, feeling every long inch of her the fool. Every time she tried to get a rise out of her dad it didn't work. The rest of the meal she pouted and picked at her food. Dad finally folded his paper, cleaned up the kitchen, grabbed his briefcase and kissed each of them on the top of their head as he always did, though he gave a laugh as he had to lean in at a funny angle to kiss Molly on the top of her heavily gelled hair. He Flooed to work, and Molly was left wanting to toss a plate at the wall.
"What's wrong, verucca?" asked Mum, cleaning up the table.
"Maybe I should get a tattoo of a miniature donkey."
"And you're pouting about this because..."
"No matter what I do, someone in this gigantic family has done it first!"
"You know, if you're wanting to rebel, maybe you should ask your father for advice," her mother laughed. "After all, your father is the most rebellious one in the family."
"No he's not!" Molly scoffed.
Lucy's eyebrows popped in surprise. "He kind of is!"
"How?"
Her father abided by rules, was polite all the time, dressed like an accountant, and generally was the stuffiest person she knew.
"Well, while everyone else in the family was getting tattoos, piercings, dressing cool, being loud, playing Quidditch and doing dangerous or fun jobs, your dad was the only one dressing unobtrusively, doing unglamorous work at the Ministry, and is a bit more--"
"Boring?"
"Reserved!" her mother said with a look that made Molly's cheeks turn red. Okay, she'd crossed the line there. "If everyone was 'the cool kid' no one would be. And your dad cuts his own path in a very colorful family."
Molly gave a sullen shrug. She didn't want to admit being wrong quite yet.
"Well, I have to get going myself. Clean up your dishes, girls. I'll see you later today." Her Mum kissed Lucy on top of the head, then kissed Molly on her forehead, avoiding her hair. "You can probably get this mohawk look with less hair product, yes?"
"Probably..."
Her mother lightly cuffed the back of her head. "Be nice about your dad!" she called before Apparating away.

Percy gave a sigh as Audrey snuggled up to him, her curls falling across his chest.
"Molly's really pushing the limits of my patience right now."
"Same here," Audrey laughed. "She truly is embodying a 'rebel without a cause.'"
"That she is. I don't care what she does, I just care that she's actively trying to irritate me?"
"Hmm... Maybe you should feign shock. She might float the idea of getting a miniature donkey tattoo in front of you at breakfast tomorrow."
"A tattoo? Oh horror of horrors! I've never in all my years imagined my daughter wanting to... to..."
"Desecrate her body!"
"Yes! Desecrate her body in such a devious fashion! I am shocked. SHOCKED!"
The two of them folded into one another, laughing.
"Honestly, if she came out wearing a matching pink sweater set, a hair bow and pearls, then I'd actually be shocked and appalled."
"Thank goodness she doesn't know about Umbridge then," Audrey snorted.
"Two months until Hogwarts... You think this 'causeless rebel' phase will pass soon?"
"If it doesn't, maybe we should send her to your Mum's for a bit. She can get all the shocked reactions she wants then."
"I'd like to enjoy some time with her before school starts," Percy frowned. "Maybe we should send her to the Burrow sooner rather than later."
Ah, wow, to be asked by @lytefoot feels epic because you have the most amazing headcanons! ♥️ These came out more elaborate than I originally planned, but apparently, I write fluffy headcanons.
2. How many and what colours are the blankets they like to snuggle in?
Harry and Ginny have a good many blankets, especially because once Harry got his own place and realized Ginny liked to snuggle in front of the fireplace with them, he kept buying more blankets until she lectured him on how many they already had and okay you can spend your fortune on whatever you like, but these blankets all look the same! Because in terms of colours, as a young couple, they kept getting Gryffindor colours (red and gold) and then Harpie colours (green and gold).
Harry would argue with Ginny about his blanket-buying habit at first, saying, “This one has a lion on it” or “This one has the HH logo along the edges,” until Harry realized Ginny gravitated toward one or two of their older blankets, some of the worn-out, original ones they got together after the war and after she got on the team. He eventually notes that those are the ones he always goes to when she is away for games because they smell the most like her flowery scent, so he stops buying new blankets all the time.
There’s a moment two years after the war when they’re curled up on the sofa, Ginny lying on his chest dozing off, the fire lighting up her hair, a faded red and gold blanket around them when it just hits Harry like a train wreck, that Ginny is really here, with him, he’s alive, and everything is going to be okay.
Later, when Ginny’s pregnant, she finally takes up knitting even though she’s pants at it. She knits a blanket the color of Harry’s eyes for James, and even though it’s patchy at best, Harry absolutely loves it and it becomes James’ blankie. It becomes a tradition even though she laughs at Harry because her knitting is so bad, and there’s a gold-yellow blanket for Al, and a red one for Lily Luna. They all treasure their baby blankets even though Al turns puce with embarrassment about it, which only spurs on his siblings’ teasing. He will deny it to everyone but his mum.
9. Who accidentally drinks too much caffeine and who has to deal with their partner bouncing off the walls?
Ginny definitely. She picks up drinking caffeine during the year of the Carrows when she and the other D.A. members stay up late, planning, plotting, trying to keep the other students safe. She also does it later when she has a lot to do, and often forgets to monitor how much she’s had.
Harry will come home to find her exercising in the middle of the night (because what else is she going to do with this excess energy?), picking up some odd hobby (because what better time to plant those bulbs Neville gave them months ago), or rewriting her article (this one paragraph is still not coming together).
Harry, on the other hand, drinks coffee when he has ridiculously long hours/nights trying to solve a new case. The coffee keeps him going, but he’s so exhausted, he just needs to fall into bed with Ginny curling up against him and he will finally pass out.
Could I ask you to answer 2, 8, and 10 for Drastoria, too?(Sorry for spamming your asks, I just love seeing you write about Astoria!)
2. How many and what colours are the blankets they like to snuggle in?
They own... so many blankets. So so many. They both get cold easily, so they probably have a blanket for every day of the week and every room in the house and then some (especially after they move in together and pool their resources, and it gets worse after they move to the Manor), and they come in all sorts of colours and patterns. Astoria’s favourite is probably a really old green-and-yellow (Holyhead Harpies colours) one she’s had for years, which Draco thinks is absolutely hideous and isn’t even allowed to use unless he admits that the Harpies are the superior Quidditch team (which he reluctantly does because 1) it’s true and 2) he’s weak and a softie and he can’t pass up a chance to cuddle)
8. How would each of them explain how they met?
Astoria would find it hilarious to have to explain that, and Draco would just... prefer not to explain it at all, bless him.
Astoria’s version is the most accurate one because she does remember the very first time they met. She was six and Draco had just turned eight, they both went to a fancy pureblood get-together during the summer, she was introduced to him and Narcissa and she got to see Draco strut around with his little posse (Crabbe, Goyle, etc) while boasting about the silliest things and she was... not impressed.
But Draco doesn’t remember that at all (much to Astoria’s amusement), so to him the first time they met was also the first time they actually spoke to each other, which was... not his finest moment. It was in the Hospital Wing after the Buckbeak incident, they argued, Astoria made him look like a fool (and he deserved it), and the only person he doesn’t mind talking to about it is Astoria herself. He’d much rather recall their first proper conversation after the war, when she wandered over to him during yet another fancy pureblood get-together and asked him to dance and he just blurted out a bewildered ‘no?’ ✨ Still mortifying in hindsight, but it’s a much fonder memory.
10. Where is a special place they hold close to their hearts? Why is it special?
Astoria’s cottage 🌻 She inherited it from her grandfather and lived there for several years, since she left home until she moved to Malfoy Manor with Draco at some point after they got married. It’s in the outskirts of a small Muggle village lost in the countryside and it’s tiny (the amount of times Draco hit his head on the ceiling because it’s so low... poor boy), and it’s quiet, and it has a lovely garden, and Draco and Astoria have very fond memories of lazy mornings spent lying in the shade of the apple tree, and rainy afternoons spent curled up by the fire and just... talking. Draco never officially moved there (though he might as well have, he spent the night there more often than not), but they both consider it their first home together 💕
Thank you so much for asking!! I love Astoria to bits and it makes me so happy to see that other people like her too 🥺💙

Wearing glasses was the worst thing ever. You tilt your head even two degrees and they go to embrace the ground. It was a miracle they didn't fall off when he was playing Quidditch.
Possibly the most horrifying thing about the Cats episode was learning that it was a labor of love. Like, I was totally unprepared to learn that the director (1) absolutely LOVED Cats and (2) felt that he had absolutely done it justice.
Sometimes this show is frustrating to do because it just leaves me wanting to know more about the people we study. I want to know what happened to Tom Hooper to make him like this.
I'm looking at your young Dumbledore, and the way he holds himself reminds me a lot of you Percy. Am I reading in something that isn't there, or do you see them having personality in common? (Beyond the "head boy" and "poor adolescent judgement" threads.)
Haha well I think they both had a bit of ‘big head boy’ going on in their youth- where there is a thirst to prove themselves and a lot of ambitions- and both feel they are held back by their origins. So I suppose that touch of ‘put on arrogance that’s really just covering up a great deal of insecurity’ is coming through? It wasn’t an intentional similarity in my mind when drawing it, of course- but I guess I just interpret the characters that way. :)
