Tips On How To Survive Zombies Using A Hammer..
1) Close The Distance
The advantage most other weapons give you is distance, you can out fire the living dead before it reaches you, but with a hammer you don’t have that luxury so the best tactic is to get close to your target and fast. Using a hammer is all about controlling the fight, and by closing the distance quickly you can use that momentum to hit your target harder and before they’ve had a chance to react.
2) Swing hard but swing fast
The worst thing that could happen to you would be getting a completely avoidable injury because you took too much time building up a big swing. Hit key points on your target’s body (the jaw, the knee, the back) to position them for a quick finishing blow to the head. Your enemy will not feel the exhaustion that you do, they will not feel the pain that racks your body, they will not stop coming until they are put down.
3) The head is your friend
The head of your hammer is the final destination of the might that you put into your attacks. It can send targets flying across battlefields, it can break bone and mangle flesh and if treated properly it will save your life. Fighting zombies is an odd contact sport in which you must make the contact but ideally never receive any. The head of your hammer is used to create the contact…
4) The stick is your shield
While the stick of your hammer is used to break it. There will be moments where you can’t avoid an attack directly, it’s in these moments that you can use the handle of your hammer to block the attack. Provided it’s a solidly built weapon it won’t have problems standing up to teeth and claws, and by chomping down on your hammer they aren’t chomping down on you.
5) Have another weapon handy
The hammer/maul/warhammer is a great weapon. However as with everything it has it’s own limits, so always always carry backup. I carry a small dagger, some carry firearms or swords or magic; but everyone carries two weapons for a reason. You can be disarmed or the hammer might be ineffective if your enemy is quick.
Good Girls Guide To Balancing Work And Play - Solomon Island/Day Two
Busy day today. Not that yesterday wasn’t busy but today was packed full of stuff. To start with, I had the worst nights sleep that I’ve ever had. The attack siren went off pretty much once an hour so the quality of my sleep was awful anyway, and that was without the fact that I was sleeping on cell floor - no mattress, no pillows. I didn’t bother eating breakfast after I’d given up trying to sleep. There just didn’t see much point.
I spent my morning quizzing the sheriff for the finer details of what happened with the town and the fog. Turns out it started shortly after a ship came into port; it was a local one but the entire town thought that it had been lost at sea. I also asked the doctor what he thought about everything that was happening. This time he was a lot more forthcoming, to the point that he openly gave me the location of the medical reports the he wrote after seeing the crew.
While I was asking questions Deputy Andy and the sheriff approached me with a list of missing citizens. Since I was going out into dead-man’s land anyway I said that I’d go have a look for them. Turns out most of them were dead, two of them were camped out in the (heavily illuminati) church, one of them was camped out in her house at the top of the town with a twelve gauge and a bonfire, and to my great luck one of boats crew members has survived somehow.
Well he’d survived but he was missing and the trail went cold at a locked manhole cover. To be honest I spent most of my day hunting for people then testing and trying to replicate the wards I found at the ‘church’. Not that I got far since my magical ineptitude kept getting in the way, however I think I stoped more undead from getting into or out of the graveyard. I also spoke to the sheriff and helped them escort some of the more injured people into the church so they could recover in peace.
Tomorrow I’ve been told to explore some of the Illuminati history of this town by Sonac as it could provide a hints into what the hell happened here. The priest has also expressed his desire to help (he mistakenly thinks I’m part of the Illuminati and I swear he’s completely obsessed), since he inhabits a building riddled with symbols I thought I might as well give him a chance.
Good Girls Guide To Balancing Work And Play - Solomon Island/Day One
Hi there! My name is Drada (a bit unusual I know but my parents are) and I have two jobs; one is working as freelance translator and one is protecting the world with the Templars. Like most people today I’m still trying to balance an intensive career with living life like a normal person. Problem is with that job you tend to get shipped off to some random exotic location at a moment's notice…
As such it’s at times like this where I wish that I’d invested more time in learning how to use firearms. It was meant to be my day off, I’d chosen a book and I’d found a nice tree in which to read it. Then my phones goes and the smug voice of Sonac fills my ears as he says something along the lines of ‘Come to Temple Hall, it’s time for your first field assignment’. Literally any other time I would have been excited but instead I want to shoot Sonac in the head.
So anyway here I am. Here being Solomon Island, and I being a completely nervous magically inept Templar. However nothing and I mean nothing could have prepared me for the sheer (and almost weirdly similar to a movie) scene of horror that greeted me as I left Agartha for the town of Kingsmouth. Some old cowboy named Boone had set up camp near the portal so I stopped and asked him if he knew what was going on here.
Big mistake that was. First off there's this permanent and really really annoying fog that never goes, secondly the entire place is being overrun by the-walking-who-should-not-be (yes zombies), thirdly most of the town is dead so I’m going to have to dig quite a lot deeper in order to find out what happened. Boone was at least helpful and gave me some chores to do as I head towards where the survivors are holding up, I also found a recently (and permanently) dead police man carrying ammo. I took it since I figured the people could use it to protect themselves.
It didn’t take long to reach the building that Boone said the locals had barricaded and were surviving in. They’d chosen the police station right on the edge of town, which is pretty sensible. All in all I counted maybe ten people maximum; that's including the police chief who’s now running the place and a doctor who seems to be hiding something. All of the people seemed happy to see me, asking if I was here to help like the others?
I think that I’m going to check this camps defenses out then board up a corner of it for the night. I need to check in with with headquarters too, see if they have any specific orders for me. Judging by what the survivors said other agents might have passed through here recently, and that means one of them might have seen Cazna...
Like holy cow guys, I don’t think I’ve ever felt so proud of the stuff I’ve written before. My two IC pieces of writing have gotten a total of 34 likes and 7 re-blogs, from you guys which is amazing!
The original point of this post was just to say thank you for supporting my work. Sometimes seeing a piece of writing that you’ve spent hours on getting no or one like is hard to bare, it makes you lose confidence. But in truth thank to you I’m enjoying writing again; and with summer coming up I’ll have more time to play and to write.
So to honor you and to celebrate my two months of freedom I’m going to do something special. Whoever likes this post will get the opportunity to ask me to do a piece of writing for them, it can be pretty much whatever as long as it’s related to TSW or SWL. Obviously what the piece contains will have to be discussed with me since everyone has their limits.
The time frame to like this post and be entered is the 9th of July, with the winner being chosen (via random pick) and notified the day after.

Sooo we have reached the glorious month of relaunch. It has finally arrived and I am so beyond ready to start the stories of Drada and Cazna anew.
So to commemorate this wonderful event I’ll be doing some character knowledge stuff. Each one will be accompanied by a picture of some kind and will reveal character information that can be used for role-playing (providing it’s not meta).
We’ll start of with an obvious one - What was a turning point in your characters life?
Drada - The turning point in Drada’s life probably came after she completed her first sensitive translation of an arcane text. It was for a spell that induced plague in victims of the casters choosing. Knowing that mages (or even people) in past had been so willing to use their gifts for evil made her stomach turn, from that day forward she promised to never become someone who hurts others without sufficient reason.
Cazna - Cazna’s turning point happened gradually leading up to her first graduation from Uni. The ever increasing pressure from her parents and twin to fulfill a blood oath that was taken centuries before her birth drove her to resentment and hatred. When it reached breaking point she silently ran to Seoul, enrolling in a second degree (this time studying theoretical physics). When her parents finally tracked her down she’d already received her gift from Gaia and enlisted with the Dragon.
So this is the new and improved Drada! There aren’t many differences but I’ll list them anyway -
1) Her hair is now a more natural dark red/ginger then the bright orange of before.
2) The addition of the three pretty narly looking scars located on her right cheek, they do have a story but you’ll have to poke me in game to find out what it is.
3) Grey eyes, you’ll have to excuse the fact it’s not quite accurate but it’s the closest I could get.
And next up is the new and somewhat improved Cazna! She does have a few changes and I’m playing her as if she’d done this all before anyway -
1) New hair cut and hair color, it’s now pink and blue instead of blue and blue.
2) Funky new chaos focus inspired tattoo around both of her eyes, this is now cannon and was something she picked up in between the two games.
3) Freckles, now as she should have been.
4) Grey eyes, for the same reason as above.
5) Due to the fact that you cannot currently (and will never be able to) wield quarter staffs in this game you’ll have to imagine it.
So I realized that I haven’t really introduced Luxtos or Boffle anywhere but the full website version in detail. So here is a thing!
