Matchmaker
Dear Lux,
I hope this letter finds you rested and relaxing. I cannot tell you how nice it has been to sleep in my own bed and soak in an actual tub. Don’t get me wrong, I’m perfectly fine eating and sleeping like we have been - when we actually got to sleep- I’ve lived in worse most of my life. Sometimes, though, it’s nice to know you can go back to a soak. It’s nice to look forward to pretty smells and skin that feels like flower petals. I hope you are enjoying such things as well.
I’m writing to ask what may seem like an odd favour. You’ve met my mother, Catherine. Well, I’ve decided it is time for her to put herself out in the world. She’s so shy! I’d originally hoped to fix her up with Artemis, but that just isn’t going to happen, and so I need to start looking elsewhere. She’s attractive, she’s smart and she’s a lot of fun if you like an understated, dry humour. Most of all she’s loyal and she cares. She sticks for those she considers family and I couldn’t have asked for anyone better to be my mom. Did I mention she’s smart? She also kicks bass. She’s tough.
It makes me sad to see her lonely. I can see that she wants someone to love and to care about, and it’s like I can see how happy she should be, but she’s not. Can you help? Surely there are a million people out there who will appreciate what she has to offer and who wont be a waste of her time. I trust you. You know people and more importantly, you know what they’re like. I believe that you can find someone who is going to be good in her life and treat her right. Will you?
She likes both boys and girls, but I think she prefers girls.
Sincerely, and with great thanks,
Aerinh
