I looked this up for a discord convo on flowers in TDP and their symbolism because I was fuzzy on the specifics of moonflowers and

Ethari essentially received a whole lunabloom plant for his birthday, in the Lunabloom short story. Rayla didn't want to pick just a single flower, she wanted to show the whole plant to Ethari.

And it worked.

The death grip this story and the art has on my is insane.

Excerpts from Lunablooom short story and Moon chapter 30

The Lunabloom story melted my heart! Rayla is so cute!

So I have a thing for doing a chronological order to franchises and I want to finish the dragon prince chonologically until season 4 is out. For that I needed to read the new graphic novel 'Bloodmoon Huntress'. I finally found it so I continued to the next thing the story 'Lunabloom'.

I know that Lunabloom was written two years ago and there might be some mistakes, but it's clear that Lunabloom happened after the events of Bloodmoon Huntress. The problem is Rayla's behaviour. She is acting like four years old in Lunabloom (and she looks like four years old in the pictures of the story as well)! It doesn't make sense! But in Bloodmoon Huntress we saw her parents leaving her, she looked a bit older between 5-7 and it felt like it's been at least a year in the novel. In the beginning of the novel Rayla didn't cry when her parents left she was angry but in Lunabloom she is crying because they can't find Lunablooms for Ethari's birthday! Rayla is not acting like herself in the story she is suppose to be older after the novel.

We have several things that proves us that Lunabloom is after Bloodmoon Huntress:

Rayla knows Runaan is assassin, something she found out in the novel and it was a main thing in the plot.

Runaan says Rayla is in training, the novel ended with Rayla decided that she wants to train.

Rayla knows about the shinning stones Ethari use. She saw them in the novel first.

Rayla is afraid of water. In the novel she sat near the water without a problem, she is afraid of water since she almost drowned because of Kim'dael. So Lunabloom has to be after the novel.

Rayla feel Runaan and Ethari are her family, the novel ended with that consolation.

So, chronologically Lunabloom is after Bloodmoon Huntress, but Rayla is acting so childish and Runaan is talking about Rayla's bravery like she isn't actually brave but she was very brave in the novel and she decided to become assasins after the events with the huntress.

And for the record, I checked when the harvest moon in our world, it is in October. So if there is an harvest moon in Bloodmoon Huntress and Lunabloom is happening in September that means there is a gap of almost a year between the stories but Rayla was suppose to be more mature than that in the short story. If Rayla arrived to Runaan and Ethari when she was something like six years old and the novel spread on a year so she was seven in the end that means she was suppose to be eight in Lunabloom but she doesn't act like she is eight!
