Sweet Intimations

n. 'intimation' - subtle suggestion or intuition

The intention behind Sweet Intimations is to create a piece which portrays a sense of wonder and subtly perceived joy, towards a prospective happiness. At first only glimmers appear, soon overtaken by intrigue, moments of drama and tension. With intensity, however, a breakthrough is made to a final clearer and more powerful perception of the initial promise, leaving only a calm eagerness to pursue its fulfilment.

With my compositional work I am interested in depicting - through the power and beauty of musical metaphor - how emotions and thoughts are organised in the human mind; how they can be clarified and used for positive ends. I seek in my music to tell stories and discover solutions in musical form which to me have vibrancy and a capacity to raise the spirit and make us stronger, wiser and more compassionate.
