Sad kiss (im going with the villain!lumine au for this bc. OOF)

Lumine looked inside the abandoned factory. It was slowly falling apart after a long battle had occurred, one of which the maned wolf didn’t see his partner. Anywhere. It’s like he had mysteriously disappeared, or worse, died.

He didn’t want to come to that conclusion yet.

Carefully taking steps in every crumbled room, his hope was starting to wain. A part of him wasn’t sure why he was so concerned about this, this happens to everyone he grows close to. He should’ve expected this, stayed far away as planned, and leave when needed.

Or should’ve been with him from the start, and not easily fall for his words.  Words that held so much false confidence.

Just as tears began to form, he heard a quiet voice coming from nearby. It was definitely him.

He quickly made his way towards the next few rooms, listening intently to the mutters, and barged into the one where he closely heard said noises. For a second, he froze.

Infinite wasn’t dead. But certainly wasn’t okay. There were a number of wounds scattered around his body, the right half of his mask was torn off, and the ruby looked like it was on the verge of shattering.

He was laying in a corner, tightly holding the gem, muttering angry words about his defeat beforehand, but quieted down once he noticed Lumine had finally arrived.

The two just stared at each other for a few minutes, before Lumine ran towards him and carefully checked his wounds. They looked like they had been there for awhile-some probably from an older fight-perhaps meaning the ruby’s power was still there.

His eyes slowly went up to Infinite’s face. His yellow eyes looked tired, and he barely said anything after the mutters. It was the first time he had ever seen them without it being mostly covered.

But Lumine never wanted to see them like this. Not heavily injured, angry, and defeated. They were supposed to destroy the world, and rebuild it in there image. It wasn’t meant to be this way.

The maned wolf sniffed as a tear struck down, eyes changing from a shade of blue. Whether if it was out of impulse or strong emotions, Lumine couldn’t tell, but he brought Infinite closer to him and pressed his lips against his.

Infinite made a slightly surprised sound upon the sudden kiss. Normally he would’ve tried to stop it, but for some reason...he just let it happen. Something about the way Lumine gently held his body, and the softness of his mouth-it was comforting.

Enough to let a few tears spill from his eyes, and the same was happening to Lumine, who started to slowly rub the jackal’s back. A blue aura of the same color as Lumine surrounded the two.

This went one for a few more minutes, before both parted their lips as they remembered what air was. Lumine choked on a few sobs, wiping his tears away, while Infinite didn’t even face them.

“I-I’m sorry.” Lumine quietly apologized, sniffing again.

Infinite wasn’t in the state to speak right now, so he just made a noise in response. Too much was on his mind, from the defeat, to the kiss, to outright showing emotional vulnerability like that.
