I am wondering if you have any thoughts on the Whiteward
OKAY so I actually have a LOT of thoughts on whiteward so first I want to post the link to the liveblog post where I first encountered the area

ALRIGHT so I'm not sure if you know what Little Nightmares is, but it's a horror game released a few years ago by Tarsier Studios and it's. It's pretty top-notch tbh. I recommend it highly if you enjoy horror!
Anyway, when you get to the hospital area, you're obviously already on edge, because. Y'know. Horror game. But it starts off weirdly slow; silent corridors, empty beds, broken walls and floors and ceilings - and utterly empty. At first, that's a relief; only environmental hazards to deal with here! But then the silence starts getting to you; the atmosphere, the lack of movement and music and threats - all you can hear is your own footsteps. And by the time you reach the hub room for the first half of the chapter, you are so on edge because you can tell - something bad happened here. You don't know what or who or when, but it happened. You're going straight into the beasts den.
And that is the EXACT feeling that Whiteward elicited in me the first time I arrived there - and, quite frankly, every time Ive visited after. It's like the horror of the Soul Sanctum dialled up to eleven. And in both Little Nightmares and Silksong, when we did eventually get to the enemies of the area(s), they still scared me even though I knew they were coming. Because you were so on edge already. And that is actually some pretty tricky horror to pull off without it seeming cheap or relying solely on jumpscares! You can see them coming! You see and hear the dreghusk behind the curtain; you see the living, restless hand come to life, and can judge that the mannequin patients will do the same the second that you see them. It's really, really good horror.
And also, the secret room that you can find in act 3?? With the silk/soul extraction machine and the room of dead bugs? It's just like the Soul Sanctum, only this time you're forced to confront it slowly; it's this amazing buildup, from the husks, to the choral commandments and lore tablets, to the silkflies in the automatons, to the unravelled, and then - this. Amazing area; it's genuinely so peak, and I love it as much as I fear it
