Hockey book rec!! I’m obsessed with the Breakaway series by E.L. Massey and it’s time for a rundown:

They shine in that’s way my favorite romances do — expanding from a living breathing network of people who love their complicated compelling person PLUS this new spectacular person.
I’ve had three different agencies contact me or my publisher in the last two weeks regarding translations (Spanish, German, French) of my breakaway series. The Heated Rivalry tide is truly raising all ships.

@animals-anna I sat down at 5pm to work on Current Project revisions and three hrs later I have written 2.5k words for Breakaway Book 5 and made 0 progress on Current Project. At this point, I’m going to procrastinate edits so hard I write a whole other book in the interim.
Hey friends. Like Real People Do question. A while back, I asked my publisher to remove a Harry Potter reference in Chapter 17 (in a bit talking about Alex’s fixation on internet quizzes, Eli says, “And not even the normal ones like Harry Potter houses”)
I just got a message from someone saying it was still in their book—can anyone who has purchased a print or digital book in the last 6 months check and let me know if yours has it too?
i just read all of your books in a heated rivalry + ice storm frenzy, and they made my ao3 heart sooooo happy. i adore your hockey boys so much, but it made me really curious - what was the original fandom?? i would love to know the original character inspo !

Check Please! Alex was originally a background (unredeemed villain, you’ve been warned) character in the series named Kent who is basically a foil for one of the main characters, Jack, who gets a happy ending. Eli was entirely original from the start. It’s a fantastic graphic novel series (there’s a new upcoming book to look forward to!) and I highly recommend reading it. You can buy the books or read the webcomic for free. I hope you’re staying warm!
