the night had started off promising, he'd even gone as far as to finally trying the prescription his doctor urged him to give a chance. within thirty minutes he was knocked out, rick and morty fading off in the background as he found himself in a deep sleep all too quickly. but as fate would have it, not even the pill could keep him out for long. waking up with a loud gasp, shooting up from his seat and clutching at his chest. the cold sweats caused his hair to matte against his forehead, blinking slowly as he came back to reality and the dream he'd managed to wake up from faded into nothingness. well, at least he'd managed to get three hours. rubbing his face before reaching for his glasses, his surroundings become clear as he squinted at the clock. ‘ ten past midnight? fuck. ’ there was no use in trying again, his heart race alone was a good indicator that sleep was not coming anytime soon. instead, he was quickly hopping into the shower, scrubbing any indication of the almost-terror away. the decision to see blue was one he refused to think too deeply about, focused on changing into a fresh pair of sweats and a t-shirt, hair still damp as he began the fifteen-minute walk. he was thankful that they lived near each other, thankful that within a short span of time he'd have blue right there and he'd at least feel less.. alone. quietly turning the handle he knew would be unlocked, stomach twisting as he quietly stepped inside, tugging his earphones out as he glanced around. no sign of him. not until he reached the bedroom and felt the softest of smiles tugging at his lips at the sight. sound asleep. not something he saw often. carefully slipping his shoes off, hoodie following shortly after before he was slipping into the bed, carefully moving to the space beside him and putting his earphones back in as he settled in. sure, it wasn't all that exciting, but he already felt much more at home.
