FX's Oklahoma conspiracy yarn starring Ethan Hawke as "truth-storian" public detective" reporter who uncovers a strange criminal network involving a powerful family in Tulsa hits many of the right notes. Told like the kind of hard-boiled genre books Hawke's perpetually beaten up Lee sells in his rundown used bookstore, the series revels in its Southwestern pulp noir characters and settings. Harjo mixes in so many different intriguing elements, from a touching father-daughter story to encounters with skinheads and acts of brazen violence.
