Abra-Ca-Dabra is a Modern Day mule born 200 years in the past. She is getting used to being an actual witch mule. And dealing with the PTSD of watching her mother burn (Salem times Style). Sheās now close friends with Pumpkin and living with her.
Pumpkin Tart is a Modern Day pony. She stays in her Cat onesie most of the time. She makes onesies and hoodies, and is really good at Halloween makeup. Sheās living with Abra-Ca-Dabra and helping her get on her hoofs, and deal with her out of control magic and grief.
Fun Fairy and Lovely Ladybug are Modern Day ponies. Just two little girlfriends who love Halloween.
2/17/22 - Lovely Ladybug
I feel like G3 Fun Fairy and Lovely Ladybug were already completely designed and then someone was likeĀ āOh yeah, we were gonna do more Halloween poniesā and threw them into orange boxes.
Iām just saying, thereās a reason Abra-Ca-Dabra and Pumpkin Tart get all the Halloween love.

WIP on a project called Lovely Ladybug Summer Special @bugdoodles
I have reorganized my computer desk, so that its difficult to do anything else but sit down and draw. It propped up my drawing tablet in a way to promote good posture, but also to be in-the-way of anything else I might do on the computer. In the end I only get about an hour or two hours worth of face time out of it.
The period before I go to sleep just isnāt very productive. Although I tried to get as much sleep in as I can everyday, because I needed to survive the drive home, I really prefer to sleep all the way up until right before i have to depart for work.
The dilemma is that if I want to use the time right after I got home and before I go to bed to do personal projects, I am fighting to stay awake. On the other hand if I sleep first and give me more hours on personal project when I wake up, it can effect my work... or does it? In any case, I wanted to do at least a little bit of work on some of personal project on a daily basis but I donāt always get to that. Its important to make some progress everyday, otherwise projects can really lose its momentum.
The Lovely LadybugĀ is a superhero comic about a young girl namedĀ Marley Bishop. She has been raised on comics since as far back as she could remember thanks to her father. She dreamed of being a superhero but sadly didnāt even hit five feet tall, but was not classified as a metahuman. Still, as she grew up she did her best be the hero she wanted to be, all the while being socially inept.Ā
While the comic does take after classics like Batman or Ironman, in that she has no superpowers but instead relies on a suit made with cutting-edge tech (acquiredĀ for a steal on eBay of all places) and her wits, she is a nearly broke college student barely making it by whereas the other two are billionaires. Even though she hasĀ all the things that life throws at us, debt, tuition, classes that sheād much rather skip but wants to do her best anyways, Marley still finds it in her to be a hero no matter the situation.
The story was started way back in 2011 for an online comic festival which fell through, but thankfully The Lovely Ladybug managed to be completed. The first chapter is a rather quick read and not really written like later issues, but that is because of a deadline and page restriction that the festival had. As things go along the characters become much more fleshed out as well as the world itself. There are legitimately actual superheroesĀ out in the world saving the day and they are mentioned all the time but because the town is more or less peaceful they donāt have much need for a hero of their own. Even theĀ āvillainsā are interesting and somehow avoid the usual cliches of superhero comics.
Something I love is the banter between Ladybug and her foes. Itās more laid back and casual compared to other kinds of comics allowing it to be both comedic as well as relatable to an extent. There are even some jokes poked at tropes in comics every so often which are always fun to see.
The art, as mentioned before, starts out very rough and unrefined but you can clearly see it has a lot of love and hard work put into it. As each issue is finished you can see a clear shift in styles as well as a dramatic improvement in the overall art itself. There are dramatic shots, beautiful cityscapes, awesome action sequences, and all the while Ladybug is this adorable four and a half foot tall beacon of heroism and justice.
Itās a lovely addition to any hero collection and I honestly canāt wait for future pages. Give it a read, let me know what you think, and hopefully, we can nerd out about it together.
And, as always, I hope you enjoy as much as I do.
