just watched your ds9 tribute video and its like the most beautiful thing in the world. so amazing and heartfelt and sweet and you picked such great moments and im almost crying here thank you so much !!!!!
Awwww bless!!! Thank YOU for messaging me to let me know how much you enjoyed it! DS9 holds a very special place in my heart, one that goes beyond just being a television show, so that vid was absolutely a labour of love. Fun fact, I actually hadnβt rewatched the entire series in years, when I started creating it, so my initial feelings when laying the foundations of the vid were very much trying to capture the essence of the series and the nostalgia and love that I felt for it - then in the 18 months (very VERY on and off ahahaha) I worked on it, I rewatched the whole series again and remembered so many more moments to include!
It helped that I had a very clear idea in my mind of the journey I wanted to take us on in the vid - we open with shots of the main cast in Emissary, then move on to Sisko and Kiraβs evolving relationship, then when the first verse comes in we explore Sisko and then Kira as characters - then I bring in the rest of the main cast in the second verse - then in the final verse I bring in all the recurring characters, until we finally end with the main cast again in that iconic shot of them all at Vicβs from What We Leave Behind. I just wanted it to both cover the journey the show takes us on from the beginning to the end, but also build up from our two central characters and layer it with all of the wonderful people who have lived and worked and passed through the station. It needed to show us all the pain and trials theyβve endured, as well as all of the joy and triumph and celebrations! Gosh, Iβm emotional just talking about it hahaha!Β Whoops, sorry for rambling on about my Process hahaha! I really appreciate the kind message and am not really sure who recently reblogged the vid that has meant it was seen by so many new people but Iβm very grateful that my little love letter has been shared with people who love the show as much as I do!
