Let's face it, there are a lot of pretty unedited, unorganized and sloppy indie books out there. That's why a lot of readers don't bother with indie or small publisher reads. But here's the thing about that: If you don't read, you'll never know. For example, if I didn't search for great small pub reads, I would have missed out on The Grave Winner.*
I came across this book on goodreads.com, while unabashedly promoting my own book, and was drawn to it. The author was doing a .99 Black Friday sale, and I was taken in by the wonderful cover and the professional look.
I don't actually enjoy thrillers very often, but I enjoyed this book. It was suspenseful, romantic, surprising, had wonderful detail and realistic, interesting characters. Because of all that, this is my second pick for indie/small pub. great books. Great read, cheap read, worth every penny and more.
*I do no accept proposals for book reviews. The books reviewed on this blog are based on a desire to read and a legitimate interest in their content. The author has in no way asked me to help promote the book.
