It all washed over you, you knew it all. You knew how the story ended, no how the STORIES ended. How all of them cover and twist, how they all rise and fall. You knew too much. YOU KNEW TOO MUCH. And then they all started to fade away, and it felt like you were falling. Falling for minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, years, decades, infinity. You kept falling and falling until you heard it.

A voice so familiar, so similar, yet so unknown and unlike anything you have ever heard before. It pierces your ears in such a scary and painful way, that it felt reassuring in it’s own twisted method. 

Did you make it?

That question rings within you, it vibrates your very core and your hollow heart shaped hole. Was this a dream? A nightmare? A truth or A lie? You couldn’t tell anymore, or at all, but the question repeats itself over and over until you close your eyes and take a deep breath. Think about them. About Ralsei, about Susie, about Noelle. About the cold, the thorns, the apology.

Your eyes shoot open and now you’re standing staring. Staring at what you believe to be some sort of reflection…A twisted angelic reflection of yourself that you…Loved/Hated. 

And just like that, the foreign memories have left your mind, all you have to remember them is the guilt and rage that have stuck with you.

You’ll make it, you won’t let it happen again.

But they did, they let it happen. THEY. LET. IT. HAPPEN.

You start punching and screaming at the barrier, tears rolling down your unarmored face. Weakness finally showing.

It was late. After dark. Noelle shouldn’t have been out and about- her mother would never let her hear the end of it. And yet, in a daze, she paced the Hometown sidewalks with her heart pounding harshly in her chest.

She hadn’t talked to anyone all day, not even her father, since her mother had broken the news to her that someone had found Berdly dead. She was trying so hard not to break that she felt like she was drowning. Trying so hard to suppress the horrid weight pressing on her chest.

And then, she almost bumped into Kris.

She froze in place, gaze snapping up, staring intently at them for a few long moments.

‘Yo what the HELL?’

Ferno pounds sharply on the studio door, which has apparently been locked. And of course he saw his keys right there on the sound booth. He hadn’t exactly been expecting a hostile takeover of this small town radio station when he’d stepped out for a smoke break. 

The speakers overhead were blasting something horrifying. The best he could gather, it was some cover of Karma Chameleon, sung by a choir of nightmarish devil-children. He bangs his fist again to get the attention of the teen sitting at the booth.

Waiting outside the house and on the steps. Frisk sat and waited on Kris to get back home from school.

Frisk had stayed at home because of a small fever. But by the way the child jumps up upon seeing Kris come into view, it seemed they were feeling a lot better now.

you think to yourself as you look out the window of the school. when you saw that kris has ... seemingly dozed off in class -- or maybe they'd just been daydreaming ... you really had no way to know but, you figured you would wait for them to get up ...

you knew that it was going to storm, you just didn't realize it was going to storm this bad. it even looked sunny during class !!

( gosh, you don't even think your umbrella would be enough to shield you two from the rain !! )

... honestly, you're kinda glad you stayed. not just because you didn't want to leave kris by themselves, but because you would have been left standing out in the rain by the gates of your own home otherwise !! and with weather like this ... oh, you're certain it would have been enough to make you catch a cold.

you didn't stay right by their desk when you decided that you'd stay ... you didn't want them to think you were watching them like some kinda weirdo. instead, you stayed by your own desk, looking outside and sitting with your own ... thoughts.

( it had been a long time ... since the two of you were alone like this ... )

years, even. you were probably young children, then ... a time when things were better, when things were easier. how time had changed ... how YOU had changed.

was it for the better ??

the sound of the chair moving catches your attention, you shift your gaze.

" ... kris !! "

why do you feel a little ... embarrassed now ??

" it was ... gonna rain so i wanted to wait for you ... but i didn't realize it would be this bad ... " you continue, twiddling your thumbs together awkwardly.

" ... we probably shouldn't leave right away. it still looks --- it looks really bad out there. " you certainly didn't want to leave yet at least. maybe with a little time it would die down ...

a moment of pause is taken.
