As far as I can say, that’s really the fault of the font. Sometimes they can be hard to distinguish. However, with practice, you will be able to infer which is which mostly based on context.

For example, you can easily surmise that ロック is ROKKU (rock/lock), especially if you’re expecting the word to be a loanword or non-Japanese name, because ROTSUKU doesn’t mean anything. Or likewise, びっくり (surprise) is BIKKURI because BITSUKURI is not a word and you would have no memory of it coming up before.

so-far, and mind I’ve not actually been able to PLAY yet, I’m liking it. the characters are fun (of the few I’ve met) and if it’s true they’ve done more to make the ‘I’m playing a boy but I’m a girl’ less frustrating (and no more allen THANK GOD) I already love it. from what I can see no one’s used any pronouns so far AND the boy has a face that looks like a girl’s face so as soon as I can change how my character looks my being a boy won’t be so obvious and annoying.

I mean, being at least a little more LGBT friendly and not having super abusive and toxic characters (as far as I know) is enough for me, but I love how the actual farming works. collecting crops is WAY better and WAY faster. (you click A while inside the plot and everything jumps in a box. you don’t have to pick things individually anymore, AND watering and plowing are similarly upgraded)

let me get a little farther into it and see how the rest of the gameplay mechanics are and I’ll let you know.

even old granny Impa only cares about Zelda (and the world, but mostly Zelda/Hylia) like even ALBW Impa is always talking about Zelda and chastising the player for taking so long in saving her (like she’s the only one who actually gives a shit about what’s going on I love it)

anyone who thinks Impa isn’t a canon lesbian is blinded by hetronormativity (and possibly homophobia/lesbophobia, depending on how adamant they are that she’s straight or ‘at least bi’)
