Trying something new and collaborating.

In life, I think it's best to quickly accept that you're not going to be good at everything. I'm good at making cakes, this I know, and I can do most types of icing. I'm good at it because I enjoy it. I'm not yet great at it but I'm getting there.

One thing I know I can't do very well is modelling, so when I was asked by my boss if I could make his 5yr old son a fox cake I said yes (because I'm a yes person) and then thought shit...how am I going to pull this off! Collaborating, that's how!

A friend of mine set up a company called Long Fox a couple of years ago with a couple of friends - a group of illustrators and they regularly make and illustrate foxes. Granted, they don't make them out of icing but I thought it was worth an ask and to my delight Barbie jumped at the opportunity to turn her hand to icing modelling and just look at the results! FANTASTIC Mr Fox indeed. What a pro!

So my lesson here really is if you can't, someone else can - you just have to ask! Thanks again Barbie, we made a little boy very happy.
