I find Clerith fans disgusting when they insinuate that Aerith moved on from Zack with Cloud after the former's 5 year MIA but refrains Cloud from doing the same after she died --- just to keep their ship significant. They dream that they'll be together in the Lifestream after he remains single until his death. Even if he never becomes romantic with Tifa --- their notion of love is selfish and immature. Aerith would have wanted Cloud to be happy, whomever he may end up with.

Aerith is allowed to get over it and move on, but Cloud has to pine his entire life? Disgusting. Does anyone even look at that from Cloud’s pov? He’s gotta purposely be alone -- the guy who above everything desires to be part of the group. Who runs away and hides when he thinks he’s let people down. Who can’t face looking people in the eye and seeing disappointment. Who wants to be the hero. This poor flawed human being trying his best to lead a good life. He’s gotta choose a lonely path rejecting love just so he can be rewarded in the afterlife?Â
Ew.
They can take that and shove it. Even if Cloud fell for someone else, not Aerith or Tifa, he deserves to be happy.Â
