it's sooo sad to see that all the 7b antis ended up being right in the end 😭i defended the fuck outta this book - because while it was contemporary, it actually had a very interesting plot with several interconnecting themes and subplots. but now it's turned into "the summer i turned my first two loves to all the boys pretty." its cartoonishness would almost be funny if it wasn't so sad. sure, sometimes the story read as both intro feminism and capitalism for dummies, but there was heart to it, and jaynie's struggles to rectify the realities of her life as someone who's working class with the absurd excess of her ultra-rich housemates AND the goddamn "fbi" breathing down her back was compelling. now it's turned into some rosewood pride bullshit sprinkled with teeeeny tiny bits of a half-assed class war happening in the backrgound between her classes, parties, and spontaneous get-aways plus chewing on the stale leftovers of romantic scenes you get with your LI if it isn't james. such a fucking waste of potential, i've NEVERRR seen a story, especially of langley's deteriorate this badly
hello diva i fondly remember you from the tag as one of the very few sane people in this fandom
all these people coming out of the woodwork (again) to be like i 🤓☝️ knew 7b was a flop from the first season like... not quite actually. the only reason you were all seething back then was because none of you can stand a fmc who isn't a blazing corona of strength and fight and witty one liners (but without ever getting upset at their male lis who treat like them a speck of dirt on their shoe), while jaynie made exactly the type of decisions and mistakes a 18 y/o would
