Cale just found it’s not ‘normal’ for ancient powers to talk to their users.

OG:Cale-Persian and some kind of turtle. Everyone in his family has this turtle and it’s the symbol of their house.

Cale-He has one for every ancient power he gets. Trevenant for the indestructible shield. Chansey for Vitality of the Heart (dude, it’s the healing pokemon and it’s funny) a flying type for Sound of the Wind and of course a fire, rock, and water for the others.

Choi Han-Definitely a houndoom and aeigishlash. He mostly has dark types.

Human Raon-Zekrom, nobody knows how the hell he got it (it was his mom’s) but a four year old has it. Appletun. It is literally an apple pie! I was debating about making him this universe’s Mew Two. I don’t know.

On-I was thinking ghost type, but I’m not sure which ones.

Hong-Poison type, obviously. There aren’t any poison cats sadly, I was thinking crogunk or maybe something bug-ish since little boys seem to like those.

Lock-Riolu and no, I won’t hear any objections to this.

Rosalyn-she’s a little tricky. I debated between psychic or flying but went with flying in the end with each one having an elemental second type. She definitely has a Talonflame.

All the dark elves and Mary have an absol (what dark type is more perfect?)

Tasha also has Mandibuzz or a Honchkrow since she has a wind elemental.

Mary also has a Mimikyu . Again, this is non-negotiable. She also has one of the spiders pokemon.

Alberu-Some kind of pokemon that represents his royal family (not the fire lion one), he has his mother’s absol, and Emolga. It’s a flying fucking squirrel!

Ron-I’m not sure. He’d have fast pokemon, maybe some dark and steel types. Or ghost? He or his son have a Bisharp.

Beacrox-I’m having the same problem with him as his dad. I’m thinking at least one poison type and the more heavier steel types since he has that great sword.

Eruhaben- ground types with an Alakazam. Why? Because you’d look at him and think psychic or fairy, but no, just like his dust attribute, it makes you go ‘huh?’ and an alakazam because those things live to be like 5000 years old. A nod to how old he is.

Toonka- he’s definitely fighting type. Primeape and a Conkeldurr. It literally beats you with giant concrete pillars.

Harol-all normal types. Sorry, buddy.

Jack-Gardevoir. I will not explain myself. I wanted to have some lame ass fairy type that turns into a badass, but I don’t know of any.

Hannah-Gallade. It goes great with Jack’s and honestly, it just seems perfect. Mary gives her a spider like hers after the dead mana thing.

I’m trying to come up with a drinking game for the series. I stumbled upon the idea when I was reading a different series a year ago. Everyone some does or says something in the list you drink, or in my case because I was at working playing, I yelled ‘Drink’ everyone thought I’d lost my mind

The manhwa episode where Erhaven first appears came out in Korean in March 2025, though he was only named the following episode. Again, this was in Korean. We didn't know what the translators were going to do. The official English translation stayed on hiatus for an abnormally long time. So the episode where he gets named, Episode 144, came out in English nearly 2 hours ago, over three months after he'd already been officially named once in English in a different translation.

And so we have it, as expected: the English novel translation got to name him first, but the manhwa did not use the same translation (usually the novel's been catching up to the manhwa, but due to the hiatus, the novel skipped ahead). It's not the only time the novel named someone first, though it was the first time. And it's far from the only time the novel and manhwa do not use the same spellings (e.g., Paseton > Faseton). The translations are made by two different teams and not working together. Likely, if Seven Seas ever gets the right to print the manhwa, they'll use their translation of the names.

Anyway I imagine a lot of people are again losing their minds over this and that's kind of funny. Why am I not sympathetic about this? Maybe because people got so butthurt about the shape of his ears that Pan4 had to explain that Yu Ryeo-Han herself suggested he have curved rather than pointed ears. And people are so weird about fan names in this fandom, like with Albert | Alver before this. I get translation issues are exasperating, particularly when it comes to stuff like removed honorifics and unnecessary Westernization, but this particular example... It's just too much.
