Don't get me wrong I love "fated relationships" where two characters are bound by destiny, lives intertwined, literally made for each other, but at the same time I always loved that Yoojin and Hyunje's relationship is the polar opposite of that.

They don't like each other because they need each other. They need each other because they like each other!

And yeah, they first start to get close because they each think they can use the other for their own goals, but it is only because along the way they start to actually love each other that they can both get what they truly need in the end (freedom for Hyunje, his brother for Yoojin, the universe is saved as a bonus).

And honestly, even the "wanting to use each other" part happens because they both not only appreciate each other's skills, but they really admire how the other uses their skills, how clever (and devious) they are. Their whole relationship, from superficial, to obsessive, to genuine, to codependant, to deep and stable, is always based on honest appreciation.

They are two man who really, really like each other very much. And the whole plot of the story revolves around that fact.
