This is my friend Darrell. He hangs around my favorite coffee place and we chat about life. He has a very rad old Shelby Mustang. He plays guitar. He wears a lot of denim. I admire his style.
*dramatic eerie voice* - Have I ever told ye about the old story of the thuggie builder turned funeral director who set up camp in a former fish and chip shop?

They rest their heads in the UPTOWN but they can mainly be found working as POLICE DETECTIVE in the DOWNTOWN. Some say they are PATIENT, GENEROUS, INTELLIGENT and can be COCKY, PERFECTIONIST, WORKAHOLIC. I hear they are LOCAL either way Turtle Bay is home and welcomes you!
"POLICE FORCE DOOR FIND 'HERMIT' DYING," Toronto Star. January 11, 1943. Page 11. ---- Colorful Caroline Ave. Figure Suffered Exposure and Bronchial Pneumonia ---- When neighbors missed their old neighborhood friend, William R. Boys, Caroline Ave., Saturday, they reported to the police. The 76-year-old "hermit" was found lying on the floor when police forced the door of his cottage in which he had dwelt alone for 39 years. He was in an "extremely weakened condition."
He resisted when P.C.'s Lock and Hearn went to carry him out. He died two hours later in St. Michael's.) hospital. Coroner W. J. O'Hara stated the causes of death were exposure and bronchial pneumonia.
Boys was a familiar figure in the neighborhood, with his long beard and cudgel, said Mrs. D. Beriault, who had known him three years. "He never left his house except sometimes late at night. He told us he walked to Chinatown. When children came too close to his house, or when workingmen from a nearby factory loitered in an empty lot next to it, he chased them off with his cudgel.
"He was a kindly old chap, though, and often used to talk with me. He told me when he came to Canada from England he gave his money to the government, and was paid $6 a month out of it. He lived on that and his old age pension."
Mrs. Beriault said Boys seemed to have plenty of food. "Once in a while a big car would drive out, and a young man would leave a basket of food on the front steps," she said.
When police forced the door and found him, he had not eaten for some time and was emaciated. There was no fire in the house, police said, and the three-roomed frame cottage apparently had not been cleaned for weeks.
A sister, Isabel R. Boys. Mountview Ave., said her brother was born in Canada, and that their father had died in Winnipeg years ago. A neighborhood boy used to take food she prepared for him to the little cottage, she added.
