how funny life was to bring them together again after all these years. it seemed to have been ages ago when she would see steven in passing on set, and with his presence came a sense of giddiness. of course it was only a silly little thing, nothing that ever went anywhere... or nothing that had even started, really. she always blamed it on circumstances being in the way; pretending it had nothing to do with the classic sister-falls-for-brother's-friend thing and the position that may've put oscar in. while every now and again, a fleeting sense of regret for not at least trying would pass, she had accepted it as it was and convinced herself it was the will of the world.
what she hadn't imagined, though, was that she and steven would one day be reunited. while the her seven years ago would've been cheering, present day her stood in front of the mirror, anxiously examining her fourth dress change before deciding it would have to do: a soft yellow sundress scattered with tiny flowers, the fabric light enough to dance around her calves whenever the breeze caught it.
it wasn't a date by any definition, she knew: they were just meeting up and hanging out, but still her heart fluttered in her chest as she walked across the grass towards steven. "oh my god, hi!" she laughed softly as she approached, smile immediate as she hugged him (shit, was that too much? it's too much, isn't it?). she leaned back quickly then, hands clasping in front of her, trying not to feel the blush creep into her cheeks. "it's really good to see you, it's been way too long." | @llstevenyeun
