the huana letting arkemyr set up shop in neketaka because he was a petty asshole to the RDC is the funniest and most valid thing in this game
I wanna know what you think of Llengrath?
Llengrath:
First impression
I missed the chance to talk to her my first time through PoE1! Had no idea about the bog she shows up in. Maybe it was a glitch? Anyway when I finally did get to meet her, I was pretty angry at this self-important archmage who seemingly popped up out of nowhere to secretly manipulate me into killing Concelhaut with the intent of also killing me to keep his method of immortality a secret forever, except to her, of course. I guess no one's allowed to be immortal except you, huh, asshole? Nevertheless, being a benevolent soul, I opted to trade knowledge with her instead of slaughtering her and her dragons.
Impression now
I like her a lot more than I used to, not least of all because she and Axa tend to agree on many issues. I still think she's overly arrogant and an unfair gatekeeper of knowledge, but she seems to be doing what she does because she wants to protect people, something with which Axa can certainly empathize. I still don't feel like I know her true intentions or allegiances, which makes me want to keep her at arm's length, and I already know she'd kill me to protect her interests. Overall, I want to trust her, but I just don't think I ever can. Which is kind of scary considering I also think Axa might be heading down the same path Llengrath did!
Favorite moment
Any of her extremely exasperated conversations with Tayn. And the way she reacts when you give her Llengrath's completed memoirs... I'm a sucker for people lovingly hugging books. And for seemingly stoic folks to show their secret soft spot! ♡
Idea for a story
If I were to write a story about Llengrath, I'd probably want to explore her thoughts and feelings about the Watcher and what their place in the grand scheme of things might be. The similarities between the two of them, the threat of the Watcher's rising power, the Watcher's unique insight as the one kith who regularly argues with the gods... not to mention the ancient dragon soul in a phylactery made from part of a divine relic that Axa likes to carry around. I imagine it's all Kind of A Big Deal to Llengrath, and I can see her debating herself as to whether Axa is friend or a foe. Vaargys she would have an even harder time with, as that asshole would immediately declare himself President of the Tayn Fan Club.
Unpopular opinion
Is it more unpopular to think it's worth it to choose to let Llengrath alter your memories instead of getting righteously pissed that she manipulated and planned to assassinate you and just killing her holier-than-thou ass and both of her stupid dragons, or is it more unpopular to go through all that trouble to not kill her and help her advance her agenda only to still deeply mistrust her and suspect her of being just a slightly kinder flavor of Power Glutton, just like all the archmagi? Because both of those are my unpopular opinions.
Favorite relationship
I haven't thought about Llengrath gettin' her smooch on with anyone! It doesn't seem like something she's really interested in. Although now that I think of it, maybe she and Bekarna would make a good match? Llengrath has a lot of knowledge that she could trust a gentle soul like Bekarna not to misuse, and Bekarna is a sweetie who might be able to push past Llengrath's cold, logical exterior to access the warm, gooey benevolence underneath ♡
Favorite headcanon
I think Llengrath is very, very lonely. She acts like it doesn't bother her, but deep down, she wishes she could just trust someone. It's the biggest difference between herself and Axa.
