I do enjoy the dynamic of a lovesick guy who wants his girl so bad it makes him look stupid & not that that’s not j3 but it does feel like a shame that the structure of this wannabe xianxia project has you introduced to j3 who is very keyed in on knowing he wants Ellie & only her, as much as I like this take on their relationship the point is that it’s meant to be a disruption of his usual pattern of running away the minute he’s even within a stone’s throw of intimacy. And the reason he’s a lot more assured and settled when he finds Ellie is bc they both have that feeling of familiarity with each other that they can’t explain (it’s bc they’re clone soulmates lol). Maybe it’s not very #feminist of me that clone Ellie is always a little on the backfoot with him even as he does love her, but I just think that complication is. Kinda fun. That being said, I’d say teacher timeline j3 is still a person ruled by his impulses, he just is following the impulse where it feels good af to spend time with Ellie bc she actually sees him as a person

Not to be a little freak but proxy sex is one of my fav little tropes and I do think one of the funniest sort-of versions of it would be teacher timeline j3, still under the impression that Ellie is hung up on an old ex (as would be the very obvious conclusion to draw from the way she seems to dwell on this mysterious person from her past that gives her guilt and hangups about moving on) and not hell bent on finding her clone boytoy from a previous lifetime (bc who would EVER assume that’s what the hell is going on), tries to convince Ellie to sleep with him bc he could be a way better lay than that guy (which he doesn’t know is also him), but in a way where he’s like, “well, if I were j3, I would do this for you, then this” (he literally has no clue he’s making digs at himself) (it’s also definitely working bc Ellie is a loser)

Would it be absolutely insane to post an LJ3 fic tomorrow. After like 2 years

The funny thing is that imo in teacher timeline part of the reason Ellie and j3 bond is bc neither of them know who their birth parents are, which ngl is a little bit of a cop out on my part bc I figured if either character knew their birthday the mystery of who the long lost clones are would be too easy to solve, & I really resist grafting too much Chosen One-ness onto the clones (the closest chosen one is Blue bc he’s such a Kristen cypher) I do sometimes contemplate making J3 a long lost prince or something. Idk I just think it would be funny and I think Ellie can handle pretty much anything except doing monarchy apologia. The idea of something beyond J3’s control being a genuine hurdle for their relationship bc of how it conflicts w her politics is hilarious to me. After everything they’ve been through she’s like. I just don’t think I could marry the son of the parasite in chief in his idiot hat. Put these guys in the torment nexus

Thinking again about Janelle enrichment being J3 dying in Ellie's arms, b/c I think it would be even more delightful if Ellie had a clear shot to take at Porter or Jace or something and instead she uses the moment to comfort J3 in his last moments. Even better if J3 is like coughing up blood or something and even he's trying to tell her to let him be b/c this is her shot to defeat porter or run away or get the boon from ankarna or something and she doesn't take it b/c she doesn't want to leave him... Even with Ellie and her single focus, this has been her mission from day one, and she gives it up. J3's trying to tell her that he's not worth it, now is her chance, and she doesn't listen. He is worth it to her.
