As for how LQG got yeeted into space the first place - this is when OG! LQG dies of a qi deviation. Instead of passing on or something, the universe decides to make him Ryland Grace's problem (as if he already didn't have enough lol ). How exactly he ended up in the Hail Mary however...it would be very funny if Grace and Rocky just found a random guy floating in space and took him in 😆

HM. i think at first they'd use one back and forth, but over time I can't imagine grace and lqg Not learning chinese and english respectively. even without the dictionary it'd be pretty easy considering everything on the ship is in chinese russian and english anyways, and it's essential for ease of communication. it's not like with rocky's language where they're biologically incapable of making those sounds. My guess is at first grace would try to find the voice that sounds similar enough to liu qingge or default to siri and vice versa for grace's chinese dub (after grace teaches lqg how to use the computer) The Real thing that's making me go Hmmm is how they'd communicate with rocky, especially earlier on. They basically have to redo the whole making-the-english-program-for-rocky except in chinese, unless lqg becomes confident enough in english to be fine with rocky english dub only (early on lqg's and rocky's conversations are as such: its rocky [speaking translated english] -> grace [translating it and speaking in chinese] -> liu qingge. it's a big game of telephone)
