Mia Fey/Diego Armando, Last Kiss. Spoilers for Trials and Tribulations.

Engrossed in reading through the fifteenth draft of her latest brief, Mia didn’t notice that her office door had opened until she heard the sound of a clearing throat. She dropped the stack of papers on the desk with a start, then looked up at her visitor, a smile spreading across her face. “Diego.”

“Hello, kitten.” Diego sat on the edge of her desk and took a sip from his ever-present coffee mug. “I apologize for startling you.”

“It’s all right.” Mia sat back in her chair with a frown. “Did we have a lunch date today? I got so busy with this case that I forgot.” She scowled down at the pile of documents. “I’m not losing again.”

Diego set down his coffee and covered her hand with his. “You won’t lose,” he said, his eyes warm. “Just keep working and keep smiling, and you can do anything you put your mind to.” He squeezed her hand, and Mia turned her palm over, lacing her fingers through his. “We did have a lunch date, but I came by to cancel. A meeting came up at the last minute.” He glanced at her desk. “And it seems you’re too busy, regardless.” He leaned to kiss her forehead, followed by a swift brush of his lips on hers. She stroked his soft hair as he pulled away. “Dinner tonight, instead?”

“Of course,” Mia said. “Just come by whenever you’re ready.”

Diego swung his legs off the desk and retrieved his coffee mug, then placed his free hand over his heart. “Dearest Mia, I shall count the hours until I see you again,” he said with a bow. 

This could go in either direction, I think. The only thing they canonically have in common is their love of engineering and tinkering and such, so they might have a lot to talk about concerning that. I like to imagine them joining forces after the game and building amazing things together.

But then there are a lot of differences. Edgar is an altruist, and takes his responsibilities to others very seriously. Setzer (for the first part of the game, at least) is a hedonist who looks out for himself and does his best to avoid obligation. He does settle down in the second half, a bit, but I think there’d still be an odd-couple dynamic that could be good or bad, depending on how it was treated.

tl;dr - Could happen, but they’d be better friends than lovers, I think.
