A mother and daughter trying to do their best against a system that despises them.

Apparently no one argued that Fíriel herself rather than her husband should inherit the throne.

          Ar-Gimilzôr was the twenty-third King of Anadûnê, and one of its most corrupt and tyrannical leaders, surpassed only by his grandson Ar-Pharazôn. He styled himself as a “second Elros,” as the first king’s Adûnaic name would have been translated as Gimilzôr, though their Quenya names Elerossë and Telemnar were very different. Ar-Gimilzôr proclaimed that under his reign he would re-establish the traditions of Men and bring Númenor to new and greater heights.           To do this, he refused to ascend to the Meneltarma and to tend to the White Tree, as well as completely outlawing the use of the elven tongues and punishing those Faithful who still welcome the few elven ships visiting from Tol Eressëa. While still his father’s heir, Gimilzôr personally took part in this persecution of the Faithful, travelling to Andúnië to demand its lord swear fealty to the crown and reject the ways of the Valar. The Lord of Andúnië was at the time actually Lady Lindórië, for Silmariën’s line had always allowed women to inherit, but in this time of bigotry her brother Eärendur posed as Lord for public situations such as this confrontation.           While in Andúnië, Gimilzôr fell madly in love with Lindórië’s daughter Indilquettë and declared he would make her his queen. At this Eärendur and Lindórië were grieved, but they hoped that if Indilquettë accepted the prince’s suit he would be less harsh in his policies toward their people when he became King. Many Faithful had already sailed to Middle-earth to escape persecution by the King’s Men, and Gimilzôr threatened to exile the rest entirely.           Indilquettë was gifted with foresight showing her that Númenor’s future could be swayed back to the light if there was a Faithful influence upon the next king. With some reluctance, and at great cost to herself, she agreed to marry Gimilzôr and in time became Arî-Inzilbêth, forfeiting her right to become Lady of Andúnië upon her aging mother’s retirement. Instead the title passed to Eärendur’s child, Minasdil, who led the Faithful east to Rómenna at Gimilzôr’s command. Though this put them under his surveillance and removed them from their ancestral lands, he at least permitted them to stay on the island instead of banishing them fully to Middle-earth.           Though Gimilzôr’s infatuation with his wife faded after discovering their political differences, he nonetheless desired her for her beauty. Inzilbêth bore him two sons: the elder she named Palantír in hopes that he would fulfill her vision, while his father called him Inziladûn; the younger was named Elenquáco, though he preferred the Adûnaic version, Gimilkhâd. Inzilbêth taught her children in secret of the ways of the Faithful, but only Palantír took her words to heart.

          The fifteenth Lady of Andúnië was Lindórië, daughter of Aulendur. She led the Faithful during the reign of Ar-Sakalthôr, a wicked king who persecuted her people to the point that many of them were leaving Númenor for Middle-earth. As she was a woman in a time of harsh prejudice against female leaders, she was forced to allow her younger brother Eärendur to pose as Lord of Andúnië in public situations.           Lindórië’s husband was Tulcatio, a mariner who perished on a journey shortly before the birth of his only child. The child, Indilquettë, was raised as her mother’s heir and found herself gifted with foresight allowing her uncle Eärendur to avoid great storms at sea like the ones that had killed her father.           Eärendur wed the hunter Aranyo, a friend from his childhood. Aranyo bore his husband a child, Minasdil, who like his father expressed a different gender than the one assigned to them at birth, though due to the bigotry rampant among the King’s Men at the time they hid this fact from all but their close friends among the Faithful. One such friend was their cousin Indilquettë; the two young nobles were almost inseparable as they came of age.           Shortly after his father was crowned, Prince Gimilzôr traveled to Andúnië personally, intending to force its Lord to swear fealty to the King and publicly denounce the ways of the Valar or else face exile from Elenna. Acting for his sister, Eärendur attempted to dissuade him, but his efforts were very nearly in vain.           When Gimilzôr laid eyes upon Lindórië’s daughter, he fell immediately and madly in love with her and demanded she become his queen. At this Eärendur and Lindórië were grieved, but they hoped that if Indilquettë accepted the prince’s suit he and his father would be less harsh in his policies toward their people. Though Indilquettë herself was reluctant to wed such a dreadful man, through her foresight she saw that Númenor’s future could be swayed back to the light if there was a Faithful influence upon the future kings.           At great personal cost, Indilquettë agreed, and eventually became Arî-Inzilbêth, Queen of Anadûnê. She forfeited her right to inherit her mother’s position as Lady of Andúnië, and the title passed instead to Minasdil. Her sacrifice allowed for her son Tar-Palantír to attempt repentance for all Númenór and saved her people from banishment to the mainland.

           Vóromir was the thirteenth Lord of Andúnië, named for his ancestor Boromir of Ladros, and was the first of his line forced to take an Adûnaic name, Abrazimir, or else be expelled from the Council of the Scepter. He ruled Andúnië in the time of Ar-Adûnakhôr, and as there was little he could do to sway the king from his wicked ways, Vóromir instead worked quietly to make his city a safe haven for the Faithful.           Vóromir was young when Adûnakhôr’s father seized the throne through violence and framed his brother Gimilzagar for his crimes, and was deeply impacted by these horrific events. Thus he was sympathetic to Gimilzagar’s widow and daughter, Nilûphêr and Arphazêl, even when others among the Faithful distrusted them, and allowed them to take refuge in Andúnië.           In time, Vóromir grew to love Arphazêl, and gave her the Quenya name Aranel. They were wed, and tried to raise their children in peace and happiness, shielding them from the darkness of the world as long as they could. Thus their eldest son, Aulendur, had the leisure to become a smith despite being his father’s heir.           When Aulendur inherited, he continued his father’s policy of subtle resistance against the King’s Men rather than confronting them in the Council of the Scepter. He accepted his Adûnaic name Tamrubên, appearing as nonthreatening as possible to Ar-Zimrathôn and his supporters. His wife was Istimiel Sapthaphêl, a scholar, and together they had two children, Lindórië and Eärendur.

Tolkien femslash week bingo is finished, I didn’t achieved bingo, but nonethless is was great fun. I encouraged myself to write in English for first time and prompts are really thankfull is overcoming writing block.
