                 ❛ WALLY. . .DO YOU NOT understand how often my life needs saving? ❜  it’s not a joke. clint has a nasty habit of putting himself in dangerous situations that usually end up with him in the hospital. never by choice of course, but y’know he was only human. even compared to wally, a speedster who could heal a lot faster than clint. really clint was avoiding the question. trust was a rare thing to come by when it came to him. he didn’t hand it out often. clint wasn’t looking to hurt anyone's feelings, or anything like that, but it was true. his criminal background had taught him that trust could get you killed. it was an old habit to break. still, wally looks at him earnestly with a mouth full of food and clint sighs out loud. he knows the answer even before he says it.

Wally would be lying if he claimed he was the picture of confidence in the face of Dick Grayson, acrobat extraordinaire and leader of most teams he'd been apart of up to this point. But he could fake it. Oh, could he fake it. Ears tinted pink with the blush that seemed to endlessly crawl its way up freckled skin, Wally leaned in with the most casual of smirks curved across his lips.

his  eyes  linger  on  wally’s  pink  ears  and  then  follow  the  blush  downward  to  where  he  could  see  it.  he  raises  an  easy  eyebrow  and  he  reaches  out  tug  at  wally’s  collar.  he  smiles  widely  ,  and  the  way  it  just  brightens  his  face  --  [  it’s  no  wonder  dick  has  been  able  to  get  together  with  friends  without  much  difficulty  ,  with  that  look  on  his  face  ].  

‘  guess  we’ll  just  have  to  try  each  other  out  and  see  ,  hm  ?  ’  dick  says  with  a  twinkle  in  his  eyes.

SOMEWHERE—drifting in pastel seas, endless skies—barry smiles. wally’s guardian, even in death. grief in the boy’s lungs, tar-black, too many chilled evenings have been spent in this cemetery. the desire to reach out, to place a loving hand upon his shoulder   /   it is an awful ache and yet he is at peace. barry allen would always run for his family. he found find this tomb again. from the clouds, he closes his eyes and pushes his voice through the waves of time and the static of the speed force.   ❝   wally, i want you to know that i’m okay. wish i could be there with you but i’ve seen your accomplishments. i’m proud. keep smiling. keep fighting. you’re the flash now.   ❞  

       ‘ so... ‘ this shouldn’t have been awkward. it wasn’t like they cheated or anything. they were both single people who were attractive and young and had taken advantage of the tension that came from fighting all crime in tight costumes. the elephant in the room was that they both shared a best friend who she imagined would be quite upset if he found out that his friends were sneaking around and didn’t tell him. not that she owed that to dick to tell him, but it felt strange regardless.

        ‘ the jokes about you being fast really don’t give you any credit. ‘ she managed after awhile, staring at her ceiling.

Jinx brushed his friends to the side to prevent them from getting involved in the mess he had created with her by trying to be cute, Of course his attempt at being cute only made her irritated. Luckily, he had only scratched the surface of her bad side which is why she hadn't caused the ground to crack from under him just yet. As she inched him into a corner with his back against the wall, she jabbed her index finger into his chest to keep him pinned to the wall while she spoke to him with her eyes flashing a light pink as a warning of the fate that awaited him if he made a bad decision.

" Give me one reason why I shouldn't make this your unlucky day. "

         ‘ sounds like you’ve really been out of it, wally. ‘ dick had been heartbroken over it when he’d called her to come over that it hadn’t been his name mumbled over feverish breath, but his ego could stand to be taken down a peg. she moved to feel his forehead, releasing a sigh. he did seem to be doing better, though she did wish she had gotten there sooner if it would have helped.
