I actually haven't tried any other new hijack fics outside of OTNWAS! Honestly, I think that fic has ruined most chances of me getting into another fic in this fandom because it is the new canon in my mind LMAO.

Most of my old bookmarks for the pairing were either discontinued or deleted too, which is a bit of a bummer. I did manage to find two surviving ones that I still love dearly though!

I found the fic —and hijack in general— thanks to your boards and fanart, and, believe me, you don't know how grateful I am for that 😭 it's like discovering a whole new world, as dramatic as it sounds hehe

like, it never really crossed my mind before. And then BOOM, seeing your board of Astrid and Hiccup talking about his feelings towards Jack is all that it takes to convince me to read the longest fic of my life (I used to avoid reading fics with more than 200k words, that's gonna change from now on). The best part is that, I don't regret it at all (contrary to what I feared when I started reading), cause that fic was so damn beautiful.

ALSO, YOUR ART IS AMAZING. the way so much emotion is shown on the characters' faces always surprises me. In fact, I started following because of your dn fanart, which is also so gooood

Omg dude, thank YOU for coming to tell me, I'm SO thrilled you found the fic through my art and SO HAPPY that you read it and loved it!! I totally get what you mean, the word count is super intimidating at first! But when I started reading, I quickly realized that it's such an amazing and heartfelt story, and I was so glad that there was so MUCH of it to really develop this world and give the characters full emotional arcs. At no point did it ever feel too long! I'm also REALLY REALLY happy it was the Hiccup and Astrid scene that won you over, I loved exploring their emotions and friendship in that one so much!!
