Thanks @capriedcorn for commenting this in this post actually because I've been thinking a lot about the balance of hijack dynamics and I've been feeling the need to address it. Basically just me rambling about my thoughts lol

Like yes that's the thing with Jack ships is that it could get iffy really easily because Jack stopped physically aging since his death.

I usually set those Jack time traveling aus into hiccup's rtte timeline in my mind so they could physically match in age. Maybe in that kind of au Jack also behaviourally acts like how he was before his death after getting his memories back in rotg and being perceived as his physical age at Berk.

In non-canon compliant aus(modern au, medieval fantasy au, etc where there's no need for age gaps at all) I think they should be closely around the same age. If it's still an immortal x mortal au(god/fae/dragon x mortal), they should absolutely look like adults.

Otherwise, in fancontent that complies to Jack's canon age with an adult Hiccup, I think it's fine as long as the fanworks actually show that Jack acts and behaves like a 300 year old adult despite being a fun loving and trouble making guy🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️ especially when Hiccup would acknowledge it yk

Just writing my thoughts down on this because I'm very careful with them and what kind of fancontent I consume of them I also HATE when people infantilize either of them OR ANY OF THE SHIPS I SHIP FOR THAT MATTER FR but yes this thing should be addressed. I think about how they'd act in different situations and aus a lot. God can you guys even understand what I'm saying here these might feel contradictory as shit to each other.
